Ok. I went raw in March 05 after reading Alissa's book. The recipes looked daunting to me, so I ate greenery and fruit for 5-6 weeks. Then I had a fat meltdown and "needed" the nuts. So I began experimenting with a few limited recipes. And that has kept me pretty much satisfied since. But the past couple weeks I've made a few more recipes that looked more complicated than they actually were. And they are awesome! Last night I made the fudge balls. Man! It can't get any better than that. The cranberry sauce is kickin'! The mock turkey is the bomb. And there's more! What was I waiting for? Someone to pop out of the book and make the recipes for me? Alissa's book is a treasure trove of delicacies...all raw and lovely!

Happy Thanksgiving Day ya'll!

Yes, Yes, Yes.... Your enthusiasm is infectious. I agree!! I've enjoyed nearly all of Alissa's recipes I've tried so far including the fudge balls, shakes, pastas, yadda yadda yadda ...

Happy Thanksgiving to you too.
Best regards, fiddler

Yea, Katrina... what WERE we waiting for??

I've been going through the opposite: no prepared recipes, but that will change. It always does. I love 'em, though. I've messed up SO many..... but.. so many have just FLOORED me.

I hear you about the fudgeballs, Yummy!!! Perhaps I should whip some up today for the kids as snacks!

I'm eventually going to try everything in the book, and tweak it to perfection, and be able to serve my family things they like.

I had the Mock Turkey loaf and Noasted Turkey and Sweet Potato Souffle along with a cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving. And OH :p !! Who woulda dreamed it woulda been this good!

Hey I tried the fudge ball recipe with honey, unsulfered turkish figs, apricots & prunes instead of dates. YUM! They were phenomenal.

My next project is Kim-Chi!

Sure will! I've never had it but I love cider vinegar so it can't be bad. I'm gonna try it this week. I'll post my success or failure.
