Hi :)
I am on day 9 today (and very proud of it). I have two questions though....
Firstly, Ladies, My period started 4 days early this month (It started about 3 days into being 100% raw)...and it is still here! I am on the pill...so I usually control that stuff...Is it normal to be irregular when i first become raw? Also, is it true once you've been raw for a while you hardly ever have your period?
And secondly, which fruits should I eat more of to try get rid of some scars that still haunt me from some very bad times in my life...I want to spoil my skin for a while now...its been through enough. I was thinking about trying a mono diet to target this problem of mine....any advice would be appreciated! :)
I can answer the skin one. I have an old scar from a jellyfish on my leg. it is nasty and red looking. recently i injured my scar being a silly devil climbing down a volcano and it turned into an ulcer. due to the poor blood supply to the surface of the scar. In the few weeks i went to see the doctor it got worse with their help.
since becoming raw it is begining to heal. first week there were noticable results.
A scar is a scar honey but my skin has improved since I started feeding my body nutrients with raw.
Dont fall for the magic creams as there is no such thing as a magic cream to get rid of scars.
But by feeding your body the nutrients it needs you will do some good. moisturise your scars to keep them healthy and eat good food. let me know how you get on.
I know your scars are from a bad part of your life but see them as part of you, you have survived that bad part.
I hide my scar on my leg but by the pool on holiday i saw pple looking and looking away only one person asked what i had done. Not surprisingly as it is a huge red scar down my shin they thought i had burned myself. they seemed impressed when i told them how i did it. You are a survivor remember that. and you wont go wrong all my love Pink xxxxxxxx

Coconut oil has been shown to literally erase scars and skin discolorations (except age spots). You can see photos in Bruce's Fife's book Coconut Cures. It's amazing. I've been using coconut oil on my right arm the last few weeks, and some marks I had from bug bites for over a year are almost gone. I just keep a tub near the bathroom and use it each time I go by.
It's not magic, or even expensive.. just honest to goodness high quality nature!
And you can eat it too!

I will get some but my scar is 10 years old i will let you know. lots of love Pink xx

The cells of the body rejuvinate completly every 7 years, and I have a few scars, that are getting less and less noticable by eating raw, and using olive oil every day after my shower.
I've heard that coconut oil is good, as Sheryl suggested, but not all people like it, and I've heard that lavendar oil is really good for your skin.
so is lanolin, which is the oil from sheep's wool, you can buy natural wool, and just rub it on your body, and the lanolin will come out of the wool for years.

I like using sesame oil. Also Vitamin C and your efa's are vital for the skin.
I've been using coconut oil for a month as a moisturizer and on a large surgical scar. Its great as a moisturizer, the skin on my face looks tons better. I have a small deep scar on my face (tree branch on ski slope), the redness around the scar is gone and the scar is much less apparent. As far as the big scar, it looks better but may not fade much. I'm not expecting any miracles of course, but at least the redness has faded and that's a good thing.
I use the brand that Alissa sells here on her site, applying it sparingly three or four times a day when I happen to think of it.

apparently, diluted vinegar is amazing, I read about this and also heard from some on-line friend who used this. Maybe it could help you. I heard that one need to use for at least a certain amount of time (two months or something, I don't remember) to see the improvements. Read this, for example:

If you do search using keywords "scars" and "vinegar", you will find plenty of into.
Best,

Since being raw, I have also been very irregular. My cycles have been between 14-21 days. It's actually been worrying me a bit. Also longer than usual. Hmmm.
