I am so grateful to each and everyone of you every time I log on and read your threads. I have been struggling (sp?) lately and have realized that I AM addicted to cooked food. I allow myself a cooked meal and it turns into a weekend and I feel horrible.
I turn to this site to encourage me to stay raw and it truly helps to read all your threads.
I am going 100% raw for 30 days (hoepfully forever) in January. In the mean time, I am going to try my very hardest to remain as raw as possible. I do love eating this way but I guess I just allow society and my addiction to take over. I need to re-examin my feelings about cooked food and what it does to our bodies.
Recently, I have read some books that are too over the edge as far as eating raw is concerned which is why I come back here for a kick in the pants!
So, I just want to say THANK YOU to all of you who share your thoughts with everyone here...it truly helps!
Lisa
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! :)
This is ALL part of your process and you are doing FINE. The first step for me is honesty and then I fall on my face about 65 times before it sinks in. ALLOW yourself to be human, and keep going. I can related to the food addiction thing--for me it is quantity of raw foods. You are never alone.

Lisa,
I'm right here with you. I believe if it wasn't for the support of this board I'd be struggling and depressed. The best thing that happend here for me was TimmyC's idea of the 90 day challange. If I had only gone 30 days, I know I would have eaten cooked by now, and gone right back to struggling. It seems 90 days is giving my body and my mind the time it needs to work this thing out. I don't know what will happen in January, but my options are becoming a bit clearer!
Anyway, check in with my in January if you'd like a challange buddy! 'Course I'm willing to bet there'll be a bunch of us with New Years Resolutions :)

I am so with you guys!
I'll do real good for 3-4 days and then blow the 100%. Today looks like I'll be 66%. I was at Sweet Tomato which has a lovely salad bar but also "other things". Its those "other things" that get me into trouble. In addition to my nice salad I had some tomato salad dressing which I'm sure was not raw and a bowl of vegtable pasta salad that contained dairy and a sweet potato. Doesn't seem too bad for you, except now my side is aching. I have hard time understanding why would a small bowl of soup and sweet potato be so bad for someone as I'm holding my side from the pain! <Ding>
I understand this is the most challenging time of the year so I each day I will try my best to be 100% Raw as I know I feel better being that way. I know now its an addition because when I came back from lunch I was still looking for something else to "satisfy" me!
I am sure there will be plenty of people starting the New Year out with the goal to be 100% and I say count me in. I myself am going to treat each day as 100% raw just as Rawpristess so elequently posted!
I admire all of you out there that are strong and 100% raw. I would love to hear from you, the challenges you faced and ways they were overcome during your journey to 100% raw.
Wishing you all a Happy and Joyful Raw Thanksgiving!

I love this board to. Really helps keep me focused.
I am doing probably 75% or so raw, I have a little steamed stuff, pasta and rice and sometimes a little meat. If I did not have to cook for everyone else I think I could do 100%.
I am up for the 90 day challenge. I want to start Jan 1st also. That will give me time to transition my family a little more and also prepare my husband for taking over the family cooking if they are not interested in doing this with me. He is wonderful and supportive by the way. That will also give me time to make some meals that I can freeze for them so that I can "cook" for them without any effort if I need to.

Yes, 90 days raw from Jan. 1 sounds like a challenge to me! Let's do it!
I am so thankful for your responses. Sometimes you feel like you are the only one out here and then you read posts like yours and it makes you shake your head up and down saying yes they are just like me!
I WILL do my best at raw until Jan 1 and then it's 90 days raw for me!
Anyone else on board?
Lisa
I'll go ahead and post a new thread for the New YeaRaw's Challange :)
