Hello everyone--I've made a couple of posts and just realized that I'd better introduce myself! I just kind of jumped right in, without an intro. . .leave it to me. (I've never been on a message forum thingy before).
:D

I've been researching healing with food for some time now, and have been interested in "raw" for about a year. I've just gotten really serious about it in the last couple of months mostly because I've finally made the connection with what I eat and how I feel--and I've found an excellent local raw place to eat at with lots of helpful resources. I'm not 100% raw by all means (yet), but I've realized that is what makes me feel better, so that is what I am striving for.

As far as health concerns go, I have struggled with acne for about 15 years and the only thing that makes it go away is birth control pills--which I want no part of. I'm really curious to see how this way of eating affects my skin. I know it can take a very long time for it to "heal" naturally, but what's another year or so? I would also like to lose some weight--about 20-25 pounds or so.

I'm really interested in all kinds of energy healing and when I started researching the life force energy in food--I was really drawn to "raw." (I'm actually doing a presentation on raw food in December for my Energy Healing class--so I'm really enjoying the forum--lots of good advice)!

As for the general intro, I live in Minnesota and am currently going to college for Integrative Health and Healing. I just quit my job last week to focus more on school and living the right path to make my life more productive, meaningful, spiritual, etc. I am married and have a 5 year old son--and lots of pets. That's about it--I could go on, but I don't want to make this too long. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

Welcome!

If you're new to RAW, these 3 books I'd recommend highly:
- The Raw Life by Paul Nison
- 12 Steps to Raw by V. Boutenko
- Living on Live Food by Alissa Cohen

The above have been helpful to me...
