Raspberry Banana Cream Pie Question

I want to make the Raspberry Banana Cream Pie from Alyssa's book, but before I spend money for the ingredients, I'd like to know if anyone has ever tried it. If so, did you like it?? Could I substitute another fruit for the raspberries, if I can't find them organic? Has anyone used fresh raspberries one time and then tried it with frozen? If so, what is the difference in taste, or does it taste the same? I think I would like to try it with strawberries, but organic strawberries are so expensive. Oh well, I am making it for Thanksgiving, so I guess I can splurge! Which fruit do you think would taste better?
