Hello everyone, I'm Kathryn. About a week ago or so a new friend of mine told me about the raw food diet and ever since then i've been doing some research online about it. I came across Alissa's site and then found the forum. I've looked over the forum for the past 2 days straight. I am just so amazed with everyone's before and after pictures. I've never been a real heavy set girl (currently I'm 5'4 130 lbs) but i'd still like to be healthy and not have all this excess fat on my thighs, calves, etc. I'm always super tired, I have bags and dark circles under my eyes (i've had them since i was a small child,) i have been dealing with acne since age 9 (i'm now 21). I've also noticed pre-mature wrinkles around my eyes and on my forhead. After reading this site I am positive that being raw will completely change everything. I'm excited to hear feedback and get support from you all. I plan on ordering Alissa's book the next few days unless any of you have a used copy of the book/dvd's that you'd be willing to sell me?? If not that is ok I will purchase them this week. I plan on starting the 30 day challenge the middle of Dec at the very latest. I want to get the book/dvd's first so I know exactly what to eat, etc because I don't know very much about being raw right now. I've been SAD vegetarian for almost 2 years now. I was vegan during that time for 7 months, but I wasn't doing it right and I got sick. I know when I do go raw I will be very aware of what I eat and listen to what my body is telling me. I look forward to hearing from all of you, hope you had a wonderful weekend! ;)
Welcome Kathryn!
That's great that you've already figured out that raw will make you healthy and take care of all the things you'd like to improve.
You're going to love what raw does for you!
(I PMed you :) )

My name is Debbie and I am also fairly new here. I have not transitioned to 100% raw yet because I also and waiting to order the book and DVD. I have so far invested in a new blender and juicer ( havent used it yet) and will order the spiral slicer when I order the book. Someone else suggested I buy it from this site as it helps to support this site. We also have the same stats as I am 5' 4" and 130. I would love to be 120.... Good luck

Well, Hello Debbie! It is interesting to hear someone is my same height/weight and will be starting to be 100% raw the same time as me! i'm moving in dec so i plan on fully taking it on jan 1 of next year for a 90 day challenge and hopefully many years to come after that. I'm actually hoping to get to around 110-115 range. i was 122 not too long ago and i didn't really look much smaller than i am now. i assume that you have curves as well (whish is an awesome thing, don't get me wrong) i just want to slim up my calves and my "love handles", flabby arms, etc. i basically just want to slim up overall. i'm sick of all this extra flab hanging off of me and just not being healthy. and i know going raw will completely change my life and i can't wait! i run every now and then. it's hard getting myself out of bed in the morning to run. well good luck on your journey and hopefully we'll be able to keep in touch and hold each other accountable. i just ordered my book/dvd's on saturday so i can't wait to get them in!

Welcome Kathryn!
You'll love the book and DVD. I've made a few of the things I've seen on the dvd, and they are yummy! Good thing the book has glossy pages, I have had to wipe off many a splotch when whipping things up in the kitchen! (Better yet, get a recipe book cover!).
