In my search for help with coconut, I have only found information for opening and using young coconuts. I haven't found any at the markets near where I live but I do find older coconuts.....small, brown...hairy ones. Does anyone have an links on opening and using these ones? I did get it opened and there was very little liquid inside. The meat tastes somewhat "soapy" Is this one bad?

Check out this thread:

Contains some good videos including one on opening mature coconuts. I haven't tried that yet but she made it look easy --- isn't that always the case :)

does anyone have nutritional information for a young coconuts? I hear that they do not have as much fat as the older ones. Is this true?
