do cashews really make a smooth paste when blended? I have tried on several occasions to make something (cheesecake, rasp. soup etc) that called for soaked cashews and they never turn out smooth. Is there a trick to it? I soak them for 4-8 hours. Do I need a champion to truly get it smooth? I thought my vita mix would do it, but no luck.

I blend, blend until smooth in the food processor -cut it off so I don't blow it and then blend some more - I get smooth. I also use my vita mixer, but with mine being 17 years old - great shape and with stainless steel container, I like to see what is going on, so I don't use if often.

Thanks for the info..both here and the other thread on TG. I will have to try it again and see how it goes.
