Folks,

I'm curious, can anyone see a difference in the two faces of my new Avatar?

The picture on the left was me on 6/3/03 (over two years ago) when
I thought I was eating healthy. I was vegan; but ate lots of veggie burgers, tofu, wheat spaghetti, etc...

The picture on the right was me on 11/17/05 (today) after being 100% RAW since August 31, 2005 (after reading "12 Steps to Raw")

What has happened since the hyde picture:
- In February 2005, I went on the Hallelujah Diet. That program is 85% RAW. I stuck with that as best I could but I always kept slipping to more like 50% RAW because cooked food was addicting to me.
- On the Hallelujah diet I dropped from 180 to about 165 pounds
- Since going totally RAW, I now weight just 148 pounds

So in total:
- Dropped 30+ pounds
- Dropped from 34" waist to less than 30" waist
- Off of all medications for cholesterol, gout, stomach pain, sinus problems, ...
- Enjoy food more
- Eat whatever I want whenever I want.
- I usually want green smoothies these days or juicy fruit smoothies and salads.
- Increased energy and spirituality.

Hopefully, some of you can see that this program has worked for me and then use that as motivation for your accomplishments. My old avatar looked like a frog playing the fiddle.

By the way, I'm 42 years old, happily married, play the fiddle and enjoy life!

I enjoy this forum immensely and appreciate all the support I have received. Thank you all for your assistance with me still learning about RAW stuff...

Sincerely,
Gil -- aka fiddler

While you look good for your age in the first picture, I think you look like a kid in your mid 20s in the second picture!

Wow, what a huge difference! Amazing what 100% raw can do for you!

You do look so young in your second picture!

Gil,
There's definitely a big difference. In the after picture, your face is no longer puffy, and your skin looks taut and smooth and glowing. So do your eyes. Plus I agree you look much younger.

Congrats! :D

I think you look great Gil! So whats your favorite greens drink? I might start doing those again myself. Was doing them via juicing, now I may do the blender version. I'm getting lazy in food prep and prefer to eat in front of the computer. :o

Thanks SweetGoddess. Your forum name suits you and your words are always so eloquent, comforting and befriending. You have a way with words. Thanks also to Autumn, kmik, rawredbone, vegggeeemom, for your kind replies; I really appreciate the compliments!

Finally reverted back to the fiddlin' frog; I just couldn't stand to look at the 2-year old mugshot (as Sharon put it) any longer :)

Thanks Beanie. I don't really have a "favorite". Lately I've been making a blender full of Romaine and/or spinach with a couple Fuji apples and a banana. I had bought a case (~70 count) of large, partially damaged organic Fujis and they are wonderful! Plus, I had to finish off part of a case of Romaine lettuce (24 count). I managed to sell a few heads to my neighbors. Amazing, from a wholesaler I got the Fuji's for only $8.00 and 24 ct of Organic Romaine for $25. That's only $1.05 a head. Most stores in the Cinti area get $2.50 a head for Organic Romaine and it isn't quite as fresh either. Love my wholesaler! Good luck with your green smoothies. Quick, less cleanup and easy to carry to your computer. I do the same these days since I no longer watch TV -- amazing how much more time is now available.
