I currently eat about 50-75% raw food mostly in the form of salads, nuts and fruits. I didn't set out to do this. It just sort of happened but I've noticed a very much improved energy level which is better the more raw food I consume.
This new found energy has convinced me to investigate raw eating further. So here I am!
Looks like a very friendly place.

Hi, welcome!!!! You are in the right place. Folks here are very friendly and helpful. You are off to a good start with the amount of raw you are eating. Alissa'a book is a great resource, full of info and great recipes. Good luck and keep us posted on how things are going. blessings Earthmama

I've been looking at several books on eating Raw but it looks like Alissa's is a must have.

Yes! Hi Lannette, and welcome :) I was looking for the key to going 100% raw, that was what I wanted to be. Alissa's book make it so obvious and easy. You'll want to read that one first!

Thanks for saying that about obvious and easy. Quite frankly I'm afraid that I won't be able to find the time to eat a 100% raw diet. I lead a frightfully busy life (should be studying now  ) so it's got to be easy.
I keep telling myself that if I can eat 100% whole foods I should be able to eat 100% raw but I know I'm going to need some good tools to help me. I'll definitely be getting Alissa's book as my first tool. Also planning to purchase a dehydrator. Luckily I already own - and love - a vitamix!

Lol! Let's play "Can You Top This?"
I have five kids and run a business. Two kids were just in Cross-Country, now one is in Cheerleading, one is in kick-boxing with me, two are in Karate and two are in gymnastics. In addition to running the business and chauffeuring the kids, I go to kick boxing three times a week, jog (7 miles on Sundays and a shorter distance one other day), and work out at the gym three days a week.
Oh, and I'm the self proclaimed "laziest person in the world." (OK, well actually my parents stuck me with that... and I ran with... or rather slept with it.)
So if I can do 100% raw... trust me, you can ;)

You really are busy! My nest emptied out this fall but my issue is that I'm up at 4:30 exercise and out the door by 6 and usually not home until 7:30 in the evening or later. The good news is that I have a small fridge at work so I'm used to bringing lots of good food with me. But as you say, if you can do it so can I! :)
Today I had a huge revelation! I borrowed a copy of the book, "Eating in the raw." All the soaking and sprouting had me thinking that the recipes would be so time consuming. But actually once the soaking and sprouting was done the actual prep was pretty much minimal - and the food was so yummy and satisfying - for the most part will be portable. I've ordered Alissa's book and now I can't wait until it arrives.

You'll love Alissa's book! I'm glad you ordered it.
Where there's a will, there's a way. There are lots of things you can prepare ahead of time, or things like washing your fruits and greens ahead of time so you can throw them in the blender real quick for a morning smoothie.
I think that's so commendable that you're looking for ways to make this work, instead of excuses why it won't. :D
