I debated if should post this because I really do not want anyone to use this as a negative on the raw life style. Part of my calling in life is to maintain integrity and give people a full picture as to why I support this lifestyle - so if you have any doubts about staying raw - take a moment (condensing it would take away from this)

I am alive today because I AM A RAW EATER! Because of the Alissa Cohen book Living on Live Foods, please know that this from the bottom of my heart ( newly repaired, but functioning so well)- I would never had stuck to raw. I had no intention of even seeing the cardiologist on Wednesday 11/10 and actually ever again - I am raw right!, what did I need him for ----> he is not my favorite doctor - doesn't laugh enough!

Well to make this long story short, I stopped in to say hello to his technician on Wednesday while making a visit to my medical Doctor for my blood work. Simone ( the cardiologist's tech) stated that I wouldn't believe it, but she was thinking about me the day before - she had such a visual of me that she could almost reach and touch me, and thought to herself "she needs to be here". So there I was - just as the universe allows, the cardiologist had no appointments at that time because people had cancelled out that morning -which is not normal, anyway, he saw me -and decided that he needed to do are cardiac catheterization the next day - Nov 11.

Anyway, I went to the hospital on Thursday morning, for what was a simple procedure - so here we are: me laying on the table, with him threading this thing through my groin, ( with ear rings and lipstick on - come on girls, I had to DIVA up) and discovering that I have two arteries block at least 80% (now guys, what does that quite mean), and as a result, stents were inserted to prevent the closing - these are by the way, two of my majors. I had to stay in overnight and part of the next day because of my body's reaction to this procedure, my blood sugar went to places unknown, like in Star Trek did, so they kept me, couldn't feed me -vegan (what's that) and raw vegan - is this lady from another planet and she is black too, okay, is she a little crazy here! - so using Alissa's method from her book, I educated them on creating an entree salad for me - by asking the staff to let me know what raw veggies and fruits did that have in the kitchen ( canyoubeleiveit :) -they asked me if the pickled beets from the can were raw - and of course, I know you can believe it ), the type of liquid oil they had, (they had sunflower oil) and if there were any fresh lemons. I know I was supposed to be resting, any way, One can not miss an opportunity and I was alive too to talk about being raw - :D I could rest when I got home!

The cafeteria supervisor came to see me and left with my telephone number for her mom, ( because she said she just could not wrap her brain around this lifestyle - that's cool  ) and my dinner (because lunch was so awful)on Thursday night , breakfast and lunch were prepared for me specially, my hospital stay was okay.

I shout for Joy because God once again saved me and I am not just here because I am to take up space, I am here for a very specific purpose, which is why I am included here and because of Alissa's method of delivering the raw message Alissa, I know that had it not been for raw, the living on live food way, I would have had a heart attack or a stroke - and a very poor quality of life if I lived. Dr. Burris believes that these arteries were clogged for awhile, that I was living with very little oxygen ( Now, I did not know that I was not breathing to capacity, I just adjusted), and in his words, my diet, my ability to process things, is the reason I am alive today and with a great quality of life. He says by looking at me, doing the diagnostics, (which never showed any abnormalities), he would not have believed it - THE POWER OF RAW - I love it, I love it.

So note to those - who have questions - please read through my journal or the one on fromsadtoraw, I do hope you are inspired to keep this lifestyle. It can work if you work it! Please do not take anymore risk with your health - choose this day to LIVING ON LIVE FOODS

Thank You.

Sweet Lips, this might open up some doors into the hospital feeding programs. Have you ever thought that you could have a hand in this? Well, we know who has the real hand, and you might be the tool for the power above.

It is absurd, that hospital food.

Wonderful news by the way!!!

That is soooo wonderful!! Congrats to you, and for sticking to your guns in the hospital!! I have wondered that if anything happened to me, and I ended up in the hospital, what would I eat? The food there is SO SAD! Thank you for sharing your story!

That is such an inspiring story, SL! I also think you touched some lives with raw food that you would never have met had you not stopped in that day. Perhaps raw food will now continue to save those people's lives, and they will share the raw info with others. We are so glad you are here, you never cease to inspire me!

The Universe is more amazing than anyone of us could imagine!! Thank you so much for sharing your story. It truly gave me new inspiration. I think I stated somewhere on this forum before that I know I need to get it together because I am 46 with a 5 yr child. I am overweight and a prime canidate for diabetes and all kinds of other creepy critters. I have been procrastinating since forever and finally got the nerve to join this forum and committ myself to myself. Your story and the spirit in which you tell it was very inspiring! Thank you so much. You have touched me to tears. I humbly bow. Bless you...I needed that. :)

Sweet Lips, This is the most amazing post. Being in the right place at the right time. You really meant it! How amazing that the doctor had time to see you right when you stopped by, and the tech was thinking about you. You've probably saved your own life by switching from fried chicken and country fried steaks to raw. Bravo!!! I'm really glad the procedure went so well for you.

Good for you! I have a question though. If you were feeling fine, why did you have the surgery? I am wondering because I've heard of many, many people reversing arterial blockages and other circulatory issues on raw, and even just vegan, diets. Just wondering! Blessings!

Good Question: My history is the short answer: None of the perphial test showed anything at all - ekg, thalmn (misspelled) stress test, blood work showed no major abornamilites, but two of them together causes concern. Additionally, all of my realives that have died, had heart disease and suffered. So as a caution, my doctor suggested and with my history of my body hiding things as well as it does- the cardiac catherization, (which is not the surgery to remove any blockages), it just takes an internal picture of the heart and the blockages were then discovered, and while viewing, one went into a spasm, thus the needs for imediate intervention right then ----> result of the sugery is an angiplasty and the addition of the stents were to keep them open, because I found out yesterday - while they were checking for blood clots in my lungs - were reluctant to remain open.

many people reversing arterial blockages and other circulatory issues on raw, and even just vegan, diets. - I agree, but that is only when they know. I have reversed some circulatory issues, being raw because my feet and legs no longer have any swelling, but that was visual. I also found out I was only breathing at a 20% capacity and again, I did not know that - I am missing a thyroid gland and gall bladder (plus some other parts :) , nevertheless, I do not have the facility in my body with a missing thyroid to gage certain things. There was a reversal actually, my body kept me because I eat raw!

that's great that you know your body so well. I wish I could get my family to talk to you. My father has 3 arteries virtually all blocked in different locations. didn't know it, just had really high BP that the doc found when he went in cause his back hurt. Found out his right carotid art. was 95% blocked so had emergency surgery on that one, and is waiting to operate on the other two, and in the meantime is going back to drinking (after 15 years sobriety) feeling sorry for himself, and my step father has already had open heart surgery and is getting chest pain and is diabetic. But what can you do? they don't want to hear any advice from me, so I just live my life and hope my growing health inspires them to find out more, you know? blessings to you!

Jacki do you use lecithin, apple pectin or any other kind of supplement to help clear out the arteries (chelation therapy)? I'm reading in my book Presciption for Nutritional Healing about that and would be happy to send along some info to you on it.

I had to smile reading your post, Jacki. What a testimony to the healing and sustaining power of the raw and living lifestyle. And you are such a strong and magnetic example of how it can transform!! You are truly blessed.

And, I have no doubt that your post has and will continue to touch and inspire those who are wavering -- both newbies and some that have been struggling to be all raw for a long time now.
