Seedling from Chicago

I should say barely a seedling who just moved to Chicago. I am 46, overweight and just ripe for health problems although I feel healthy as a horse. I want to stop cooking my food and start eating totally raw. I have a 5 yr old son who needs me and I want to be around for him.

I'm in the Chicago suburbs & going on about 1 year (off & on) raw.
No kids but planning on sticking around a long & healthy time for my family, too!
You've found a great forum here. You're on the right path w/ raw & if you need support you're bound to get it...

Check out the "where do you live..." post in the living food discussion section. There is a bunch of Chicago folks & they are planning field trip to Karyn's (a raw food restaurant in Chciago) for November 22nd! :p

Also, please try out the rawfoodmeetup group. It is a group of chicago people who are partial to fully raw. There are events and meetups. There are raw potlucks in the burbs and city. So glad to hear there's more people here in the Chicago area! There's also a meetup group in the suburbs, although the Chicago group is bigger, but I'm working on that!

Are any of you in the suburbs? I'm in Elgin, and the suburban raw food meet-up will be meeting next month in St Charles at Sweet Tomatoes.
