Hi You All,
I woke up this morning feeling fine but as the morning went on it felt like I had the worst case of gas bubbles in my chest that went around to my back.
I had a hard time breathing and my dh took my blood pressure and it was normal but I was having a very bad case of indigestion.
When eating cooked food I use to get this but this is the first time with eating raw food.
Have any of you all had a problem with indigestion and if so what did you do about it.
My husband tells me I must slow do my eating, eat slower and chew more.
Thanks for your responses.

eating slower and chewing properly is important. Also, eating easy to digest food and food combining! Problems with digestion seems to be such a common issue amongst new raw foodist. This can be easily overcome by proper food combining. You do not have to jump into mono-eating at this stage. You could simple use less ingredients in recipes and apply some general food combining rules. Like eat sweet fruit on an empty stomach, and before you eat the greens (otherwise the fruit will sit on top of the greens and ferment), eat watermelon on its own only etc. Acidic fruit can be safely combined with greens. Carrots, sweet potatoes can be a bit hard to digest, so limit these, if you can. In general, fruit on its own is perfect, as are green salads.

Best,
Gosia.

My husband (not a rawist) has bad acid reflux so I did extensive research on this and we found others who said drink (self juiced) celery juice each day. So all week we have been having Celery Juice. I make it for "Me" and I give him a glass of it and he drinks it, I add 1/2 apple to his...So far he has not had an attack this week. :D

Does he drink plain celery juice or does he mix it with something, like carrot? Also how much has he been drinking?

Duh ... just reread your post. OK will try again, how much celery/apple juice please?

Me too. My ENT told me I am showing signs of acid reflux and I've been battling this since June. I did a glass of celery, parsley and cucumber.....didn't eat at all until I felt it work all the way thru the intestines and boy do I feel "lifted" and different.

I use one bunch...and Organic if you can..Celery is one of the veggies that is best Organic. More so than others.

A bunch is maybe 8 stalks. I drink it straight. Or add it to my Green Smoothie. For my hubbie I add 1/2 organic Gala or Fuji Apple.

Here's an odd (but it works!) remedy I got out of the "Back to Eden" book by Jethro Klaus.

You may think it's not worth the effort - but trust me, it's worked darn near every time and I've told other people about it who've tried it and it works for them too.

1. Have a cup of warm water ready.
2. Lie flat on your stomach for 10 seconds.
3. Turn (fairly slowly) onto your right side and hold for 10 seconds.
4. Turn back onto your stomach and hold for 10 seconds.
5. Turn onto your left side and hold for 10 seconds.
6. Back onto your stomach and hold for 10 seconds.

Then get up and drink the whole glass of warm water. With the movement and then warm water - it helps dislodge the gas bubbles from around the heart and chest wall which then helps aleviate the pain and uncomfortable feelings. You'll probably burp a few times when you're done.

Thank you all for you cures. I will juice some celery today.
Walking on water, I have the 'Back to Eden" book but I can't find where i put it, thanks for the cure it worked and I feel much, much, much better.
My back was in pain and when I sat in the car I had a difficult time getting up but now it's much better. I will never suffer with gas bubbles again.
Thanks so much.
