Hi,
Promengrantes are in season now and I will continue to juice them but when the season is over I will have to switch to the bottled juice if I want to continue drinking it.
Will there be any health benefits from the bottled since it has been heated?
Thanks for the information.

I found a really HUGE beautiful pomegranate and bought it thinking I'd pick my way through it over a few days... Well, just kept munching and at the whole thing standing up by the kitchen counter. It was amazing!!! Must find them on sale and get more. I didn't think of juicing them, do you just put the whole thing in, do you peel it, etc...?

I have a question: how do you eat the darn things without getting the staining red juice all over everything?! I bought one a few weeks ago and cut into it. I proceeded to try to get the seeds/fruit out, but juice was splashing everywhere. I finally gave up, because I didn't want to ruin the shirt I was wearing, and then have to wipe down my entire kitchen. Any useful tips would be great, because I really like the taste of pomegranates, but avoid them because of the mess. I was thinking about getting the pomegranate seeds I saw at Trader Joe's, but they are so expensive compared to the whole fruit. And of course it isn't as fresh.

They have huge bins at the Kroger and Bi-Lo grocery stores here. I was so excited! I'd never had one before so I bought one and it's still in the fridge because I'm not sure what to do with it. I'm scared I'll end up looking like "Carrie" in the prom scene. :p

I've copied and pasted what I wrote in another thread on pomegranates last month:
I've found the easiest way to open and separate the seeds without the juice staining everything in sight - score the whole fruit, then submerge in a big container of water to separate the seeds from the sections -- the seeds will go to the bottom and the non-edible parts will float to the top. That way you can just skim or pull out the skin and partition things and, when you drain off the water, all the seeds are there -- all with no staining!
If anyone wants to read what was written there ... and some recipes ... it's at: http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7188&highlight=pomegranates
Or ... you could just lay out a white t-shirt while you're opening the fruit and consider the results to be wearable art!

Well, I love pomegranets seeds and all, they are a fun fruit to eat.
I eat most of my fruit naked in the hot tub, or just naked where ever I am.
It is fun, you can play with your food, eat with your lover, enjoy the process.
Life is meant to be fun.
Food is meant to be eaten, enjoyed, rubbed all over your body, etc.:)
