hi,
does anyone have a suggestion about what to do for bad breath? i started eating raw a little more than a week ago and i notice that after i eat i often don't have the best smelling breath. i assume part of the problem is the detox process.
normally, i'd pop a breath mint in my mouth, but since i'm staying away from those, i'm looking for an alternative.
any suggestions?
thanks. :)

You can chew on peppermint leaves, carry around bottled water that has peppermint leaves (or a drop or two of peppermint essential oil) in it, drink finger-warmed mint tea, try taking chlorophyll.
I've never done any of these (with the exception of the tea) I've only heard these things being done before... I still chew gum.

I had this problem for two weeks ! when I first went raw. Being in a Profession where I talk face to face with clients it posed a serious problem for me!
So I added Chlorophyll to my water.
I took my tooth brush with me for the day but that was so inconvenient
The most effective was buying a product from Garden Of Life called Clenzology Tooth and gum solution which is a mixture of oils. I put a few drops in water and swished and gargled MANY times a day.
Another option I had was Tom's Mouthwash...less expensive more available and that worked too.
Best of All it will pass...now I am super fresh.

chlorophyll, chlorophyll, chlorophyll....this is another area that those green smoothies have done wonders. No morning mouth, no bad breath.

Yes, chlorophyll is amazing stuff. Swish with it! It is so fun the way your mouth turns green. Also, I found that during detox, brushing with baking soda really helps balance out the acidity. Scrub your tounge and eat onions.. then you will smell like onions! :)

Be sure to floss as well as the other suggestions already provided above.

Greens greens greens, and flossing.
Since I've had at least one blenderful of green smoothie per day, my breath has smelled better. And I notice my oldest daughter's breath, which used to knock me out, has improved. It doesn't smell.

I simply chew on a sprig of parsley after eating a meal -- for me it works as a natural breath deoderizer.

chlorophyll, chlorophyll, chlorophyll....
Can one pick up chlorophyll at Whole Foods? or do I have to order it online?
It sounds like a liquid and not capsule... How bad is the taste ?
Would E3 Live or Blue Manna algae be similar enough since they have
lots of chlorophyll in them?

Chlorophyll is a naturally occuring substance in greens (spinach, kale, lettuces, green sprouts, collards etc). Increase your greens intake and you'll be fine.
