I hope I'm posting this in the right place.

Over the last week, my adorable DH has been transitioning from SAD to vegetarian then to raw. Being a quiet kind of guy, he didn't announce that he was doing this but chose to make it clear by telling me that his Rawvioli were still raw because they were only lightly warmed, not cooked. :D I did make clear to him that he didn't have to do this just because I'm back to being raw, and that I would never ask that of him but I really appreciated his complete support.

So anyway, last night he asked me how long detox takes and what the symptoms would be. I told him flu-like, maybe a headache for a day or two, that its different for everyone depending on their level of toxicity (I've been reading a lot of archived posts on this site!). He asked me if during my recent detox did I notice some things smell differently, and I told him yes, that certainly could happen as the mucous is cleared out. That's when he told me that his office smells like garlic and his (new) car smells like burning oil.

Have any of you noticed that smells are different? Has anyone else noticed a garlic smell? Its never happened to me so I told him I would ask you all if anyone has ever had this happen. The smell is not from his lunch, because I fix his lunch everyday and there's no garlic in it.

Hmmm, TA, well I've had sinus problems much of my life and I've noticed when I'm getting over a sinus infection that I smell things that are not present in the atmosphere. I call them "trapped" smells, like it drifted in my nose when I was stuffed up and them BOOM, there they still are two weeks later when the glacier is melting (that's what it feels like to me when I start getting un-stuffed).

Don't know if that's really it, but I thought I contribute it anyway!

This is definitely detox! Mine was a mold smell, my friends was metal and someone else I know smelt turkey...lol
My sense of smell changes so much. I was in a place for a meeting and the whole time I was overwhelmed and disgusted by a smell. At the end I discovered it was the marker someone had used to write a teensy note on, on a post-it. I couldnt believe somethng so small could overwhelm my sense of smell like that.

Raw will clean all sorts of things out of you, in a variety of ways ;)

Blessings to you and your husband on your raw journeys!

I noticed that other smells like the cleaning isle & perfume isle would drive me crazy & give me a headache.
