Hello, we had a 4 months old puppy (Border Collie).
What is the best diet for these dogs. I heard dogs are different.
Which food to avoid and which food is great for them.
Thank you!
Dogs are primarily carnivorous creatures, so certainly not a vegan diet.

Yes dogs can be vegan. THey even sell Dry Vegan dog food at the pet stores. Evolution dog food is one of them. I am not sure for Border Collie which diet is best, but I am sure you can find them on the web. Each breed seems to have experts. Good luck with your new baby.

Please do not feed your dog a vegan diet. It is not natural, they are carnivores. We may be able to justify humans being herbivorous but there is no way dogs are not carnivores. You will not be doing it any favors health wise if you do not feed it meat.

i was wondering which plant foods are great for them and which one to avoid.
So far, i found an info they thrives best with rice and lamb but no more then 10% meat.
I won't turn her into a vegan until i am 100% sure this is ok,
but i don't plan to give her a rich diet on meat.
I also saw that a treat could be carrot and rice. Anyway, i would like to seek advice from you, since you most likely feeding a raw diet to them.
She is clearly a natural carnivore, since she seek to eat the cat food all the time, i had to separate their foods. We have two cats.
i read that some give coconut oil to them for their fur or fish oil. I would like not to make mistake and do the right thing right of way.
I know nothing about dogs since i never own one, but i am learning.
So what is safe in term of fruits/vegetables? I know that she cannot have nuts, avocado or chocolate.
Thank you

Avoid onion, potato, grapes. My dogs like whole raw carrots, melon balls, apple. Wheatgrass juice pulp and avocado skins. Small amounts of all these things except carrots. When I lived in a house we kept carrots where the dogs could help themselves.
