Welcome welcome welcome!!! :excited:
Welcome to the 30 day challenge and welcome to our new monthly format.
This is our monthly challenge thread. We are choosing to do one (or perhaps split into two) continual threads so we can create a community of support within this challenge. You can join this thread at any time during the month. Don't be shy... we love new posters!!! So if you want to join us... please do!
I welcome people who are already 100% raw to join in the conversation - supporting our challengers in their quest! :cheer:
This thread is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to 30 consecutive days of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!
I will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month. If I forget... send me a quick email and remind me... I'll get the challenge thread online for you quickly.
The focus of the monthly challenge is on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, don't beat yourself up over it or dwell on it - but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going! This thread is about celebrating what you are eating that IS raw!
I welcome you all to share pics of your dishes, ask questions, share what you are consuming (as long as it's raw). We are here to listen to your emotional and physical challenges. So share share share!!! :hug
OH and the best part of this (not only the support but...) you can subscribe to this thread and get notified every time someone posts to it. This way you will be connected!
So let's get this party started!!!:throwhearts:

Myself and a few others. I have been "bad" and I realize how much I am addicted to sugar. I did the 30 day raw food diet last year and felt fantastic.
Really looking forward to getting back into it.

Happy February - it came in with snow here!
Breakfast: cacao, banana, pineapple smoothie (with green tea powder & maca)
Snack: pineapple & coconut (I was wishing for more tropical weather)
Lunch: Creamy Broccoli Soup (I am almost addicted to this - from RFFE)
Snack: 3 flax crackers with Grezzo cheese (Oh. My. - hard to stop at the little 3 I had) & a raw pecan brownie with cacao frosting (mmmmm)
Dinner: corn chowder w/avocado
Snack: leftover smoothie from breakfast
I really want to do more of a lower-fat approach, but today was not that day. And given all the raw snacks I made today in preparation for Sunday's big game... I'm thinking a Monday start to lowER fat will be more appropriate. Snack for Superbowl include: two kinds of Grezzo cheese, raw cheeze-its, crackers, extra brownies, raw pizza crusts ... so far. I'm hosting - if you couldn't tell. :D

Day 3
Queenbee, fantastic menu.
For the first 2 days ate fruit and soaked raw cashew nuts and fresh coconut water. They are aplenty here.
This morning beetroot, carrot and celery juice diluted with fresh coconut . I have my dehydrator set up and today will be spent preparing. Tomatoes are drying, wheatgrass is growing, wheat berries are soaking to make rejuvelec. Crackers will go in to the dehydrator next
First day had a massive headache, probably due to coffee withdrawals. Day 2 rested. Today feeling good and want to get into preparing raw meals and researching new recipes.

Hi there!
Today was okay, though in making cupcakes for tomorrow (raw) I ended up eating two and just wasn't hungry for dinner. Not my best day in terms of eating b/c I snacked too much. I'm sure tomorrow will be the same with all the Superbowl food and having people over. My goal is just to stay raw. =)
Breakfast: Berry smoothie (@ Renee - made with Rejuvelac! I liked it, my husband is not a fan - but he doesn't like anything fermented like that so forget him, lol) - blueberries, almonds, coconut butter, cinnamon, matcha
Snack: Pineapple & kale smoothie - pineapple, kale, flax; plus small handful of pistachios
Lunch: Tomato soup - tomato, garlic, ginger, avocado
Snack, snack, snack: Two raw mini cupcakes with raw vanilla frosting (these are seriously YUM, but fill-ing), a couple of raw cheeze-its (had to taste!), some caraway flax cracker (from RFFE - such a tasty and simple recipe) with Grezzo cheese (my newest addiction)
My brain is trying to talk me into eating a kale salad, but my stomach is just too full from the snacks...
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend - and the Superbowl (go 49ers!). =)
Cheers!

Yesterday was a super busy day so I didn't get a chance to log in. I think this is everything from yesterday, but I may be forgetting... Definitely not the day I was planning (too many nuts), but at least now all the dessert, etc., is out of the fridge (thanks to my four daughters). :D
Breakfast: Fruit smoothie
Snack: Flax chips w/ grezzo cheese & handful of raw cheeze it's
Lunch: Large kale salad with "cheese" crunchies (leftover cheeze it's smashed up) & a raw cupcake
Snack: 2 raw brownies (these are really small, but I definitely shouldn't have indulged - I was super full for hours)
Dinner: 2 bananas
Snack: 1/4 cup walnuts

Renee,
Pictures are great? Is is possible to post pictures from my iPad, if so I will look into how to do that.
Queebee, this is one of the most popular dishes I make.
yesterday
Green smoothie
Pumpkin seed, sun dried tomato pesto with flaxseeds crackers
Sandwich with hoummos and salad
Spinach and mushroom tarts with salad
Apple crumble
Day 7
Beetroot,carrot,apple juice
Eggplant dip with crackers
Fettuccine with mushroom Alfredo sauce and cauliflower
Still thinking about ideas for dinner
I am feeling great, the only thing I miss today is coffee, no biggie
The other 3 ladies are doing really well. Reporting higher energy levels better bowel movements, one who is reliant on bran has stopped the bran altogether.
What is amazing about this diet is that the results are quite immediate.

You can make your own raw smoked foods by making sure the smoke is cool before it passes over the food. Just research cold smoking processes and ignore the meat/fish aspects of the search results. Adding smoky flavours to things is easily done by adding smoked paprika if you don't want to actually smoke anything yourself.

Hi everyone,
Day 9. Green smoothie
Beetroot,carrot,celery,pear and ginger juice.
Chocolate mousse tart.
Argula, mango, cauliflower salad with sunflower and pumpkin seeds with a honey mustard cashew nut dressing. This was really good.
Feeling great no cravings for anything in particular besides coffee but that is more a lifestyle thing.
The 3 other ladies have been a bit nauseous ,could it be something I made. I ate what they ate perhaps less though and have had no ill effects. They thought perhaps the food was too rich, so I cut back on the fats and made more salads. One woman who complained of feeling ill, told me the other night at a gathering she inadvertently drank a glass of orange juice that had sugar added to it and immediately felt great, the nausea had subsided.
No one is saying anything but could it be that I have given them food poisoning? Could this be a symptom of detoxing?
Oh dear

-----
Breakfast: strawberry & banana smoothie with Macs
Snack: pecans & kombucha
Lunch: flax crackers with grezzo cheese (we were out of salad)
Snack: leftover smoothie
Dinner: creamy broccoli soup
I didn't drink nearly enough water yesterday. Ugh. Today all I feel like is water and grapefruit....

Today was super crazy so I grabbed what I could get when I had the chance! I am leaving tomorrow morning for a week in the mountains and will most likely be offline until next weekend. BUT - I spent hours today packing everything and planning carefully so that we can stay raw on the trip. I'm even bringing my little blender. I'll post updates when I get a connection to the "outside world." :D
Today:
Breakfast: Grapefruit, pecans & walnuts
Snack: Flax crackers & grezzo cheese; pistachios & kombucha (not a flavor I liked at all - yuck)
Lunch: Spicy cabbage, avocado & cucumber soup
Snack: Strawberry smoothie with a little coconut butter & cinnamon
Dinner: Broccoli soup
Keep going and I'll look forward to catching up when we get back from the snowy mountains!

Have a good trip Queenbee,
Renee is that chocolate in the pudding what gives it that dark rich colour, very shiny. Looks lovely.
Day 11
Yesterday I made a key lime pie.
Coriander,cashewnut chili,lime and garlic pesto
Put 2 watermelons in the hydrator, 3 mangoes a small bunch of raisins along with biscuits made from puréed apple and pear, cinnamon, nutmeg flaxseed, sesame seed and shredded coconut see how they turn out. I ate crackers and hummus as well
Feeling good walked along the beach and tumbled in the surf. have also been doing some spiritual healing which is helping my moods.
No cravings, hunger in check. I am more convinced than ever second time around on this diet that this is the one for me.
After I complete my 30 days I am going to reward myself with top of the range undergarments.

Must make some raw brownies, never made them before, could you recommend a recipe?
The dried mango black grapes and watermelon are just so delicious, nothing can compare to what you buy.
I have never dried grapes before and the grapes were very so so but drying them made them the best raisins ever, they come in season I am going to make a heap.
Juice was apple ,carrot, orange and these amazing yellow passionfuit from a friends's garden.
Basically snacking today

Hello people!
Is it okay if I join you? I've been raw on and and off for about a year and a half, and since the beginning of the year I've been 100% with just a couple of exceptions.
Today so far I've had about 2.5L of juice (grapefruit juice, carrot juice, and celery-orange juice.
I had a really yummy salad made of dandelion, (I found some really nice tender variety at the fruit market) with raisins and cashew cheese.
A few tablespoons of hummus
Two bananas
And for dinner probably a banana and vanilla sunmylk smoothie with a scoop of pea protein.
CailHong, nausea is a sign of detox, but also it could be that they didn't tolerate the fat very well.

Hi Lucy
Welcome. Yes the food that I was serving had quite a lot of nuts and was quite rich. We all decided to cut back on the fats. They seem to be OK, although one lady is just sticking to smoothies and fruit juices for the time being.
Hi Mystic
Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you CailHong! I think it's great your friend is sticking to juices and smoothies. They're definately my favourite!
Glad you're feeling better MysticTree!
Today I had a spinach and apple juice, and my usual carrot juice (I pretty much have that everyday)
A few dates 6-8
A huuuuge mixed green salad with spring garlic chopped in there.
A raw chocolate bar with coconut creme (yum yum yum)
An x-large smoothie with pea protein, bananas, chia seeds, almond milk and vanilla.
Later on I'm going to have another smoothie and a grapefruit juice, since I have lots of grapefruits that a friend gave me.
Oh and i also drank about four cups of water kefir mixed with orange juice.
I hope I can find some time to make some flax crackers soon. I'm totally craving something crispy. :)

Day 13
Yesterday I had a green smoothie. carrot, betroot apple and ginger juice. A shot of wheatgrass 1 pineapple, half a small watermelon, one apple, two bananas.
Four apple, pear, coconut and raison biscuits.
3 shredded jicama patties with apple sauce and a salad, felt hungrier than usual.
Feeling great. My onlyproblem is sleeping. wake up several times during the night. It's 2am in the morning as I write this. (sigh)
Tomorrow I am going to attempt to make brownies replacing the dates with raisins, dates are very expensive here.

Lots of great ideas.
Rennee I must reach coconut yogurt as they are in a abundance here.
Day 15 for me and really the only thing I miss is coffee and it's the ritual more than anything.
Smoothies, juices and lots of fresh fruit. salads dips and crackers.
One of the ladies who is doing the diet, is sticking to just smoothies and juices and any sweet teat I might make and she might fancy. She comes in in the morning, picks up her smoothie and juice and we have a chat. She is looking great by the way and has lost weight. She told me she never loses weight and this is the only diet where she has. She has tried most of them.
The amazing changes in people in such a short time is astounding. I definitely have a convert here.

Wow - back from trip to mouthwatering pictures! Yum. :D
Renee - that tabouli salad looks super good!! They all look super good, but something about that one is calling my name. Question for you: my husband & I were remembering how much we like (not raw) tofu scramble. Do you know of a raw recipe that is similar to tofu scramble? Obviously w/o tofu, but maybe with those same flavours?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yesterday was skiing all day and then on the road until midnight... tough day to be raw, but we managed. Minus the cup of coffee I had to have as I was driving in terrible white-out conditions at 10pm at night after skiing. :(
B: Banana-cacao smoothie with maca and match
S: Raw apple-walnut bar
L: Green salad with mushrooms, tomatoes & the last of the raw tahnini dressing we brought on our trip
S: Raw apple-walnut bar, handful of nuts
D: Mixed green salad with broccoli, sunflower seeds, mushrooms
S: Two handfuls of pecans - this is more than I would normally have but having the baggie right there in the car.... hard to resist!

Day 17,
Felt a bit low yesterday, I think it's because my sleeping patterns are so out of wack.
Green Smoothie,
juice, watermelon pineapple and passion fruit. Coriander pesto, crackers, apple and pear biscuits, 2 chocolate truffles. Mango, dragon fruit, dried watermelon, dried mango and handful of cashew nuts.
Interesting looking at what I ate, feeling low I gravitated towards sweet foods to make myself feel better, fill the void. Before raw it would be chocolate cake icecream and lots of it, still felt empty but then sick as well.
it's great to have healthy sweets alternatives to turn to.
Today I feel much better
Renee I checked out your detox box. I think this is a total bargain, in what you provide.
I know this is not a commercial site and respect that but I would love to speak to you further about what you are doing.
My raw cafe opens next week. Prior to this I have been preparing raw meals from people that requested them. I find packaging a big headache, I don't use throwaway containers, I use these 3 compartment stainless steel tiffin carriers. I am looking around for suitable containers

Hey y'all!!!!
After 2 crazy, crazy work days, I'm back!!!!
Queeny: there is a FANTASTIC Breakfast Scramble by Ani Phyu!!!!! I used to make it when I first went raw...it's wonderful!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gvrEj2H36w&sns=em
CaiHong: Thank you!!!! That's SO wonderful that you're opening a Cafe!!!!!! We totally need more of them in this world!!!! Feel free to email me anytime!!! :). I actually started off that way too...until I found out it was illegal to do it out of my home in TX... So, from there I decided to be a personal Chef and make food in the Client's home. Actually, that's how I met my business partner for Tru Meals! She hired me as her Personal Chef and the rest is well...... I would say history, but since I'm do it now I.....hehehehehe!!!!
As far as packaging goes... I started out using the same containers I got from Sams! Take a ride over to your local restaurant supply store!!!! You can get fantastic containers by the box full!!!! Sooooo much better than the 3 compartment ones! And, they are pretty cheap, too!
You can get bags too. Another thing you can do is look on the back of containers being used by your local restaurant and order straight from the company, but that may be costly since they will probably expect you to buy in bulk. Let me know how it goes!!!!! I'm SO excited for you!!! :cheer:
.................
I worked last night till 4AM, so I've only had about 5 hours of sleep!!!!! But, I made some FANTASTICLY DELICIOUS meals last night!!!!!! I am having SO much fun!!!!! :dance
Gotta make more Kale Chips! Man, they sure didn't last long! Especially with me going in the dehydrator every time I passed it!!!! Hehehehehe!

Thanks for the thumbs up Renee. I am in Vietnam, Hoi An a top tourist spot. If you ever get out this way lunch is on me. I think you would get such a kick out of visiting the markets.
Day 18
Yesterday I had
Green smoothie
A small vegetable juice
too many dried watermelon pieces
walnut basil pesto with crackers
A big salad, crackers and pesto
2 choco truffles.
I filled the 9 tray dehydrator with
Tomatoes
fresh shredded coconut
flax seed bread
I made these amazing lime, coconut biscuits, I tasted the dough and it was fantastic. I got the recipe from this website, I substituted limes for lemons and agave with coconut sugar.

Hi guys!
@ Renee - thank you so much for the link to the scramble. Am going to check it out now. I usually like Ani Phyo's recipes. :D
@ CaiHong - coconut biscuits sound amazing!
@ MysticTree- I'm in the middle of dehydrating the scramble recipe you pointed out ... will let you know how it turns out.
You guys are really inspiring in that you are creating a financial life for yourselves in the raw industry. My husband has been bugging me to try to sell some of the things we make at a local co-op. Maybe I will take the plunge after reading about you guys....
-----------------------------------------
Yesterday was a weird day b/c I was out with a large group for many hours and didn't get to eat right so I feel "off" today....
B: Pineapple-banana smoothie with matcha and wheatgrass powder
L: Horrible salad at a chain restaurant: iceberg lettuce, underipe avocado, & salt.
S: Handful pistachios
D: Raw brownies
As you can see, not the best day.... but since I don't usually eat like that I'm not too worried. I just feel really tired today and no wonder - I am sure that wasn't nearly enough calories. SO looking forward to my normal food today!!
Cheers!
Greetings everyone. I have been away for awhile (maybe a month or so?). Rather than making excuses, I will just say that I am back. :)
MysticTree, ReneeH, queenbee - I am glad to see your posts again. :) I only looked at the last page, but it's nice to be back amongst folks I know.
CaiHong, congrats on 18 days! I too have coconut in the dehydrator. I wish I knew what to do with the stuff. I consume more coconut milk than coconut meat, it seems.
Today, I started my 100% raw day with:
* juice of 3 apples mixed with 3 TBS chia seeds
* 2 oranges
* 1 apple
* 4 small (50g) "sesame balls" made of ground sesame seeds, dates, cacao and agave
The fruit was yummy but it made me super hungry (as always). I am feeling better after the sesame balls. I still have two bananas and an apple in my lunch bag here at work, but I am afraid to eat them. Fruit only brings me soul-crushing hunger. Anyway, I think I'll let that fruit hang out in my bag until tomorrow.
I haven't had a salad in a LONG time. I should probably do that tonight. If my romaine has gone 100% bad, I will probably end up eating veggies dipped in raw ranch. I do have a ripe avocado. I suspect that may find it's way into my belly at some point tonight. I will post again later.
Again, it's nice to be back and see posts from familiar folks. :)

Here's a shot of the Zucchini Scramble (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?65728-Zucchini-Scramble&highlight=scramble) we had for brunch today (gotta love Mondays off)... The only thing I would say is that I think it was a bit heavy on the sauce. That is probably dependent on the size of the veg you're using. Next time I would mix in just enough to coat the veggies instead of dumping in the whole amount.
Super yummy stuff!! I think this would be good in collard wraps or layered in between something. It's a tasty recipe.

day 19,
It's morning here, got up at 3 am, wide awake so I went through some recipes and picked out ones that I think would be good and the ingredients readily available.
Just cut and juiced a wheatgrass shot. It didn't taste as sweet as yesterday but still very palatable.
I think anyone who can provide raw food on any level is great in my book and if you can support yourself doing it all power to you. It's a righteous move.
So many people seem to open restaurants and have no love of food. I can really relate to Renee getting excited about a new dish or something that turned out well.
Get this, my manager and I were talking about heading downtown to find someone to print the menus and signs and the next minute this graphic designer walks in off the street looking for work, 2 hours later we have the mock ups for the menus, signs, business cards and the bill/receipts.
Should be ready by the end of the week and we can open!
Yesterday
Green smoothie
Vegetable juiced
Wheatgrass shot
4 lime and coconut cookies
Herb and walnut pesto with crackers and dried cherry tomatoes
Pear and apple biscuits.
feel extremely clear headed. Not hungry or craving anything really just coffee.

Your welcome Rob!
Cai, I can totally relate to what you're saying!!! I saw this business as being huge from the beginning. Alissa's class really helped me to see that I could REALLY do this...AND, do it WELL!!! She is so incredible at what she does. I love the fact that she helps others to realize that having your own business is absolutely possible. Her meals at Grezzo were, to date, the BEST meals I've EVER, EVER tasted! I wish everyone could have had the privilege of tasting them.
Cai, I wish you SO much success!!! I know that, if you continue to love what you do, you'll be a huge success!

That looks yummy Queeny!!!!!! I feel like fasting tomorrow, so I'll be over on that thread. Hold down the fort till I get back!!!! :-)
Good Morning everyone.
Yesterday, dinner was a spinach salad with raw ranch and raw slaw.
I made the coconut/sesame/banana crackers that someone posted in the main form. I am curious how those turn out.
This morning, I got up and exercised (gasp). I am hoping that movement will enhance my metabolism and suppress my appetite. I shall see.
Today, I brought to work a couple bananas, a couple apples, an orange and chia seed pudding (coconut milk, chia seeds and raw coconut nectar). After getting to work, I realized that I forgot my sesame balls. That's really going to be hard to get through.
Good luck everyone.

Welcome back, Rob! I'm going to try those same crackers this week =)
Yesterday was another "off" day for me... I think just coming back from an exhausting week away (fun! but tiring) messed with me a little. I just wasn't all that hungry. Plus that scramble was FILL-ING.... lol I did look at many recipes to get some inspiration for the upcoming week. That was fun. :D
Here's yesterday's food...
Brunch (late in the day): Scramble (pictured above) & banana
S: Nuts & flax crackers
Dinner ... or was it just a late snack? ;) : Raw brownie with sliced banana and cinnamon
A strange food day, but today is shaping up to be more normal. Thank goodness.

Day 20
Feeling very good indeed no cravings for junk food, no overeating. I feel that I am controlling my food and that the food is not controlling me. Feeling incredibly positive.
Rob tell us how the coconut crackers went. maybe a big green smoothie in the morning would stop you feeling hungry.
last night I had
Mango
Banana
Dragonfruit
Apple
Today I feel like a really big salad
caiHong
I just took the sesame, coconut, banana crackers off the dehydrator. I like them. Sesame seeds have a bit of an interesting flavor, I think it works nicely in these crackers. I ended up using coconut flour instead of shredded coconut. (My coconut flour is coconut pulp left over from coconut milk-making dehydrated and then fluffed in the food processor. It's light and fluffy compared to shredded coconut - FYI). These "crackers" taste a lot like the raw cereal I but in the store (yummy stuff). I will probably use them that way. Pour some coconut milk over them - yum.
I ate the food I mentioned before. I just ate 3 banaas, a spinach salad with raw ranch, a handful of prunes, some of the coconut crackers, some carrots dipped in raw ranch, an avocado with sea salt and now I am munching on pistachios. I *may* be it for the day.
Getting through the day was hard without my sesame balls. I was very hungry. I don't know if it was the lacking sesame balls or the excersize. I guess I will see tomorrow.
That scramble thing looked really good. I'm kinda curious about it.
Anyway have a good one folks.

Yesterday's food:
Breakfast: Blueberry smoothie (blueberries, coconut butter, walnuts)
Snack: Pineapple and kale smoothie
Lunch: Raw cabbage soup (with bok choy)
Dinner: Leftover blueberry smoothie
Snack: Small handful of walnuts
I finished those crackers today. How fast they go is a good indication of how good they are. :)
Yesterday I did pretty good on raw food. Today, I could have better, but I will just buckle down tomorrow. I always have this yo-yo issue when I first start. It gets better so I am hanging in there.
You guys are doing great. You are an inspiration. :)

Hey Rob - just take it one day at a time - at least that's what I do. It seems to help. :) I have stomach issues that, while I would rather in a million years not have, really help keep me "honest" b/c if I eat poorly I get sick/in pain. It doesn't even take much for me - just some chips will do it. Ugh. So it's actually easier to eat raw (at least high raw) than not in my case. I'm trying to make this year - 2013 - as close to 100% raw as possible for me to really nip the stomach stuff.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Today was great - feeling good aside from a knee injury. It's aggravating b/c I am just finally getting back into being able to exercise fairly regularly & with intensity ... and boom, my knee is bugging me. Hoping it goes away quickly.
Breakfast: Strawberry & walnut smoothie
Snack: Apple & coconut butter smoothie
Lunch: Cucumber & ginger soup
Snack: Strawberry & walnut smoothie
Dinner: Tomato soup
Cheers!

day 23
Renee I have yet to make a raw pizza, probably because I am not a big fan of the pizza. I must give it a go.
Thanks Queenbee felt better after a power nap in the afternoon.
I am really getting a kick out of growing my wheatgrass. A question, in the west how much is a shot of wheatgrass for one ounce?
Need to find a supplier of wheat berries fast. I brought over my wheat berries from China, but wont be going back until mid April and will run out soon.
I am filling up all my hanging baskets and will need to put up some more. The side of the restaurant is perfect for them, a god breeze and indirect sunlight.
yesterday in preparation for the opening I made
ketchup
Marinara sauce
Mayo
Cashew salad dressing
Chocolate mousse tart
Banana biscuits
Lime biscuits
Crackers
Dried mango bits for my mango ice cream
I froze 10 kgs of fruit for ice cream
I need to make 3 more raw desserts this morning, burgers, dips and so on.
But no matter, raw food is so much easier and faster to prepare than conventional cooking.
Feeling good, but so busy in the kitchen haven't been down to the beach for a swim. Must take some time out to do that.

good morning all,
Day 24
Sugar: The Bitter Truth - YouTube
Watched this, this morning. it confirmed what my body knew. Sugar intake leads to me to want more and is never satisfied.
Now I know why.
I am searching for the perfect burger, tried 2 different recipes, but am noticing a back flavours of bitterness, could this be from the flaxseed or the onion?
My key lime pie came out perfect, I read a few recipes and adapted them to what I have available, used the soft coconut flesh instead of coconut oil or butter. Thickened it with coconut flour instead of shredded coconut. Rob got me thinking about that.
A question, I bought my shredded coconut from another supplier for half the price, I left it in the fridge for a couple of days before drying it, that's the only difference, I also noticed that the new suppliers coconut is wetter. When I dried it it turned brown and looks like toasted coconut and smells like sweat. Any suggestions?
Sort of snacked yesterday as I tasted things and adjusted seasonings. I made a sundried tomatoes sunflower seed pesto that tastes bitter, need to fix that or bin it. I think I must taste each ingredient before I use it in the dish.
Sign was put up yesterday, my lovely bougainvillea that needed to be trimmed back to accommodate the sign is now a stick.
Still wanting to go to the coffee shop and sit down to a strong cup of coffee. But I can cope.
Strawberry Avocado mint smoothie , I have all those ingredients.
Will make that today.

@ Cai - sounds like things are moving along. Must be exciting to see the sign!! Make sure your flax seeds haven't turned - I've noticed bitterness when seeds/nuts start to turn. I have no idea on the coconut other than that maybe the dehydrator was running warmer than usual (?). I've never had that happen, but then again I usually buy pre-dehydrated coconut (it's hard to come by fresh where I live) so I've only ever done it myself a couple of times.

Day 25
Rennee I have discovered the wonderful taste of sage. Must do the pizza. The raw onion is not too strong??
Mystic and Queenbee Thankyou for taking an interest. yesterday the bitterness that I was picking up seemed to disappear
I made up 2 leafy green salads with cashew nut dressing, dried mango, cherry tomatoes and red capsicum, topped with the 2 different burgers topped with raw ketchup and mayo.
My marketing guy loved the bugers and said they tasted like meat, that was the sage, mushroom and walnut burgers. These burgers called for portobello mushrooms but I could only find fresh straw mushrooms in the market. I have bought 3 different dried mushrooms including porcini.
Any thoughts Mystic on the types of mushrooms to use?
I am not sure how to tell if my flaz seed is rancid or not.
yesterday I made strawberry cheesecake and 2 small apple pies.
On my raw dessert menu I now have
Choc/orange mousse tart
key Lime Pie
Strawberry Cheesecake
Chocolate Ice cream
mango ice cream
Papaya ice cream
Banana and coconut ice cream
just have to get stuff prepared for the quiche and mushroom spinach tarts.

Raw apple cobbler sound so great. I make a raw apple crisp, which I warm in the dehydrator. Yum.

Hello Everyone,
Sorry to jump in at the end of the month. No not really happy to be here again.... Its nice we always get a warm welcome no matter how many times we come back.. I waited to post until I can fully commit to the 30 days. been aboutt 80% raw. Always sabotage myself with those few little bites. Ive gained some weight since last summer and hope to get it off.
I have been making lots of smoothies. My new fave is frozen bananna and raw cacao. That was my breakfast. Lunch big salads. Dinner big salads then dates for desert.
Favorite new recipe:
Raw Pecans
Figs (soaked)
Mix in food processor, press then cut into bars.
These are so so good I have been eating them everyday. (Dr. Ben Kim recipe)
Hope everybody has a great day.

Day 26
Good evening
Thanks Mystic for the info. Renee, fabulous food. Hi Tracyraw.
Queenbee, I have started using a lot of strawberries with mint in my smoothies after reading your post.
Wheat grass shot
Green smoothie
Banana coconut biscuits
Pineapple
Getting great feedback from the customers, not many a handful really but the reward I'd that they are enjoying the food.
Tired but happy

@ Renee - my husband and one of my girls had this same thing. My husband starting consuming mad quantities of Vitamin C and it seemed to help. My daughter was hit harder - she slept until 11am yesterday. Unheard of!!!
Glad you're feeling better. :D
