My resolution this year is to start eating fermented foods. Back in December I started reading about fermentation and got a few books from the library, and I've just ordered the following - Perfect Pickle from amazon, mason jars from local store. My goal is to make a bunch of pickles, all natural, no whey starter or anything.

I really like Korean food but I was never able to find any Kimchi which was fully vegetarian (as you know most of it contains some fish paste etc). I never knew it could be made easily at home! The health benefits of fermented foods really seem awesome.

I hope you love & enjoy your Perfect Pickler as much as I do! It just couldn't be easier - love that thing!

And - if you find you'd like more Perfect Picklers - you can easily make your own and get the supplies for it with a trip to a brewing supply store. I posted pics here (somewhere) of making our own for less than $2.00 if I recall correctly.

I make my sauerkraut using celery juice instead of salt (I am a no salt person) and I love it.
