Welcome welcome welcome!!! :excited:

Welcome to the 30 day challenge and welcome to our new monthly format.

This is our monthly challenge thread. We are choosing to do one (or perhaps split into two) continual threads so we can create a community of support within this challenge. You can join this thread at any time during the month. Don't be shy... we love new posters!!! So if you want to join us... please do!

I welcome people who are already 100% raw to join in the conversation - supporting our challengers in their quest! :cheer:

This thread is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to 30 consecutive days of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!

I will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month. If I forget... send me a quick email and remind me... I'll get the challenge thread online for you quickly.

The focus of the monthly challenge is on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, don't beat yourself up over it or dwell on it - but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going! This thread is about celebrating what you are eating that IS raw!

I welcome you all to share pics of your dishes, ask questions, share what you are consuming (as long as it's raw). We are here to listen to your emotional and physical challenges. So share share share!!! :hug

OH and the best part of this (not only the support but...) you can subscribe to this thread and get notified every time someone posts to it. This way you will be connected!

So let's get this party started!!!:throwhearts:

Happy new year!

I'm so happy to be giving myself the gift of being raw for the month. I've had a crisp salad with peaches for dessert for my lunch. I know tonight I will make mindful choices and stick to my program. I slipped in December but this is the start of a new year, a new start. I feel so good to be raw again, this is such an abundant way of living, I love the gentle way it makes me feel.

Happy New Year rawkstars! What a great day 1. My body and mind are both united with joy to start 2013 100% raw! Hooray! Hope you are all feeling the glow of anticipation for better health, energy and peace!!

Here is a list of the delicious food I consumed today:
- Opened a young coconut to celebrate the start of 2013! Blended the water and meat for coconut cream, half of which I made into a curry with ginger powder, curry powder and sea salt. Poured the curry over kelp noodles, thinly sliced turnips, adzuki bean sprouts, fenugreek sprouts, sprouted pumpkin seeds, and half an avocado. - The other half of the coconut cream I blended with chai tea, reishi, astragalus, eucommia, maca, cacao, and honey for a delicious dessert. Added goji berries on top. mmmm
- Dinner was spinach with EVOO and ACV topped with portobello mushroom marinated in sesame oil and nama shoyu, ground flax seed, sunflower seeds and goldenberries. Had an apple for dessert.

See you all tomorrow! Sleep well! :)

started a day late but am up and running now. Juicing for the remainder of this week with maybe eating solid raw at the weekend - or not. No concrete plan yet.

Juice today is apple, carrot, beetroot, chicory heart, bok choi, celery, ginger, clementines, lemon, broccoli stalks.
Sounds a bit of a mad mix but actually tastes nice.

Yummm!!!!! All of your meals sound just FABULOUS!!!!!!

I see some I'd love to try!

Tguch: I totally need to do the Brazil Nut Cheese!!!! Is that a variation of Alissa's recipe?

QueenBee: I'd LOVE to try that Cucumber/Cabbage Soup!!!! Can you email me the recipe?

RedCedar: Your Chia Pudding w/Cacao and Bananas sounds great!!! Do you use a Nut Milk with it or just water? I'd like to try it with Carob....do you sweeten it with anything?

Mystic: That's a really FULL Juice! I've never heard of chicory hearts....what is that?

Yesterday was a Coconut Smoothie day for me! I didn't feel much like eating and I woke up late. I did nibble later in the day, though and I made some yummy raw meals at my prof kitchen!!! I'm incredibly spoiled!!!!

These are chicory hearts. Other countries call them endives whereas we call a type of lettuce-looking thing endive so it's a tad confusing!

Oh!!!!! Cool! Thanks!!!! I would have never thought to juice those, but it makes sense!

Alissa used them to build up her Salads at Grezzo. I love the way they make Salads look! Gotta try them in a juice!

Thanks G!!!

Wahooo! Oh boy, I think my body is kicking out some toxins! Already? Perhaps! Symptoms indicate adrenal stress - does anyone have pointers on good food to eat/ not eat to aid my lil kidneys in their cleanse? Thanks!

@Renee! I love your enthusiasm and your photos! The Brazil Nut Cheese is actually from Ani Phyo's book - it is 2 cloves garlic, 1 tsp sea salt, 2 c Brazil nuts, 4 Tbsp lemon juice, 1/2 cup water (as needed) and then stir in 1 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes.

Breakfast: same as yesterday, grawnola, goji and pumpkin seed mylk
Lunch: an apple and the other half of yesterday's pizza
Now I am munching on a Hail Merry chocolate pie. They are so good!!! Probably won't have dinner, or I will do a liquid dinner. Really tired and want to go to bed early.

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow! Have an awesome day!

Day 3 for me so far i have had a super emotional release/detox and all kinds of movement in the tummy. Although this is my first raw food challenge i have been a vegitarian on and off for about 15 years now so the detox has not been too severe. The other thing i have noticed not sure if its due to detox but i cant sleep, I was up til 9 this morning then took nap with baby.

today
alfalfa tea
lettuce tomatoes wraps with a bit of grapeseed oil veganase and vegetarian bacon bits very little for flavor. I have heard you can also use smoked liquid to get bacon affect.
cucumber sliced and dip peanut satan sauce.
pepper avacado parsley soup indian spices
flaxseed cracker with cashewalmond spread
2 bananas
2oranges
1grapefruit
2apples
multivitamin

@mystictree thank you i will try that

I made a load of almond milk today! My first batch in years. It's exciting that it's actually cheaper to make than purchasing even the cheaper end pre-packaged stuff.
Now I have all this almond pulp and I want to make a savory crust, but most recipes i've found say to add flax meal. Only, I can't afford to go shopping at the moment. I do have sunflower seeds at the moment, and think maybe pulsing that in the FP and adding in some sundried tomatoes, olive oil, and italian seasonings.
I am a newbie though to the dehydrator, so if anyone can spot a flaw in my ingredients, please steer me in the right direction.

rest of the day: shared some chia puddin with banana with my young one.
finished off the cocoa-avocado pudding.
snacking on almonds and dried apricots (really need to reign that in!)

have some garbanzo beans sprouting in the kitchen, and want to make a hummus, or possibly falafel. eee!

Hi all -
Love the food pics, Renee - very inspiring. =)

Day three yesterday was awesome for me. I recently acquired a new blender - the Tribest Personal - and I tried using for the first time yesterday morning. I totally overfilled it and had a mini "explosion" of green liquid all over my kitchen. =O But other than that, a great day. Drinking lots of lemon water throughout the day in addition to my meals.

B: Pineapple & Coconut Smoothie
S: Pear & Spirulina Smoothie
L: Yummy Yummy Avocado Soup (so filling)
D: Curried Soup
S: Another Pineapple Smoothie

Cheers!

It's great to see the colorful pictures, I make sure I only check this thread when my willpower is strong as I've switched my plan to a juice fast this month, it is a detox for me on so many levels, I'm going deeper then I have before, it's a spiritual and emotional cleanse as well as a physical one.

Hello all!

B: leftover smoothie of spinach (from the hoophouse!), banana, pear, tangerine, msm and spirulina
Snack: sprouted buckwheat toast with almond butter and banana, green tea
L: Arugula salad with broccoli sprouts, portobello mushroom marinated with tamari, sprouted adzuki beans, olive oil, sea salt
D: Arugula salad topped with an almond-pumpkin seed pate mixed with red pepper, parsley, broccoli sprouts and kale sprouts

I have Matthew Kenney's portobello sausage and pancakes in the dehydrator! Can't wait for tomorrow brunch!!

Love you all and wish you all energy, peace and a good night's sleep!

thanks Gianni. the recipes I've seen for pizza crust involving almond pulp still advised adding flax meal. I bought some flax seeds today and may just add them whole.

breaky was an apple--then an early dinner of raw pecan tacos. Discovered adding mushrooms was a good way to pad out the "meat". Also, I usually use a zucchini for that reason and to add some moisture, but was out and a bit of cucumber did the trick.
Might make a dessert here in a bit. It's going to involve cocoa, no doubt.

Hi everyone,
Feeling good. Day four was great. I had a kombucha along with my regular lemon water. I'm down 3 lbs, which is nice. :)

B: Mango Smoothie
S: Grapefruit with cinnamon
L: Green Salad with spinach, romaine, avocado, tomatoes and sauerkraut (raw)
S: Strawberry Smoothie with mint and cayenne
D: Avocado & Pepper Soup
S: Mixed nuts (I was dehydrating them with something else in the dehydrator and they acquired this amazing, spicy flavor - yum)

It was SUPER cold here last night so I had some warmish lemon water in the evening, too. =)

Hello all,
Day 5 was pretty good, though I was a bit hungrier than I have been in days past. I had a Kombucha in addition to water today again.

B: Banana smoothie (banana, walnuts, cinnamon ....)
S: Bluberries & Pomegranates (~2c total)
L: Spinach salad with sauerkraut and sprouts with a raw dressing (ginger, nama shoyu, apple cider vinegar, hemp oil...)
S: Pineapple smoothie (pineapple, dates, ice, blue-green algae)
D: Spinach-Broccoli soup w/dill & lime
S: 2 handfuls of nuts (I was so hungry - had one and then went back for more ... and then had a couple more when my hubbie brought the jar over....)

Overall, a decent day though it felt a bit heavy towards the end b/c I had so many nuts so late in the day. But all good stuff!

Put them in a tin with an apple cut in two. they'll moisten up.

woot, woot. The Champion has arrived. Will give it a test-run at lunch-break.

edit to add that I posted a reply to Yoru about the pancakes suggesting that she put them in a tin with an apple which is halved. This will help moisten them. - the forum software sent the post into the moderation queue!

I got pretty derailed over the holidays, but I got started on the right track this Sunday. Keeping things pretty basic for now. A lot of pea sprouts and sunflower sprouts. A little bit of fruit. Tuesday night was pretty hard, the kids were over and my wife prepared a SAD feast! I behaved myself, but the smell of stuff I wanted and could have easily taken "just one bite" of was really intense!
Last night, on the other hand, I got home and had not desire to eat. I did eat though because I didn't want to wake up craving stuff. I had a good night.

@ Delmar: I'm glad you made it through Tuesday night.

Today I met some friends for lunch at a SAD restaurant that actually allows you to bring your own food in (as long as you have a special diet and if someone in the group is buying some of their food.....). Many of them did but food there, but I didn't have to "white knuckle" it!!!! Here's what I took with me:

So, I made a Date Nut Torte for the group :

I am so excited. I was having a handful of cashews as a snack. my 1 1/2 year old son comes over(he just got his molars in) grabs one and chews it up and is not on his 10th one.
Last night my nine year old also decided he wanted to eat and chew raw garlic with me before bed.
I love raw for what it does for me but the fact that my kids are jumping on board here and there makes it more satisfying.

i too want to join the choc. brownie party!

Breaky: sprouted buckwheat whipped up with a banana, pecans...kinda like eating raw pancake mix, meh...

Snacked on sunflower seeds, soaked raisins, tea

Dinner: giant salad (need to go shopping so it was a random mix, but worked well). Used some of the leftover cashew-cheese from kale chips I was making on the salad. Num!

Dessert: had some avocados getting squishy so made a cocoa-avo puddin'. Only had a couple scoops so far.

Snack: cashew-cheese kale chips!

RedCedar

Ha! I know what you mean, i could have used more on the kale chips but held back in case it took forever to dry. Also, it meant that my hubby had some leftover for his crumpets, and his delight at that fills me with glee.
Some recipes suggest putting the dehydrator temp. up for the first hour, then lowering back under 115 for the remainder. curious if this is how you use your L'equip, Mystic? Seems to always be a recipe utilizing an Excalibur that talks about this.

MysticTree
01-12-2013, 11:45 PM
Yes, I start it off higher for the first hour. Then I do it lower for the second hour then I put it down to 114 until pretty much dry then 105 until I want to take them out.

I've been off line for a few days as am traveling, but I'm super proud b/c I've stayed 100% raw this entire time!! Including my sister's baby shower today. I don't remember everything I've had the past few days, but as I am in the SF Bay Area instead of my usual rural MD location I've had SUCH an easy time. Makes me contemplate moving back, lol. Yesterday was especially cool b/c I got to eat at Cafe Gratitude in Santa Cruz. I bought a slice of raw hazelnut pie there and brought it to the shower today to enjoy while everyone else ate the regular cake.

Breakfast: Pineapple Coconut smoothie (pineapple, matcha, vega fusion, coconut butter, spinach)
Snack: Small fruit bowl
Lunch: Mixed green salad (mixed greens, avocado, green onions, tomatoes, cilantro, olive oil)
Snack: Raw hazelnut pie from Cafe Gratitude (yum!)
Dinner: Kale chips, small salad (spinach, cauliflower, carrots, cabbage, olive oil, cumin), kombucha
Snack: Two raw coco-cacao macaroons (so yummy)

I loved going back and reading the posts I missed - I am looking forward to getting back home as my husband told me today he started going raw (!!!!!!) this morning. Shocker! It will be amazing for us to do this together. =)

Cheers!

Hello all! Hope you are doing great today! I have exciting news to share - this past weekend was my birthday so two separate groups of friends took me to dinner at two different vegetarian restaurants in CT. I got off the plane a few hours ago and am home - hurray!! :excited:
Today is my last day of eating "travel food" - but still all raw. I drank a TON of water on the plane, but was really really hungry anyway so I feel like I ate a ton. Oh well. Tomorrow I am looking forward to eating at home. I'm going to sign up for Renee's brownie class - looks super delicious!

B: Strawberry smoothie with wheat grass & matcha
Kombucha (2) - I had to drink them before I got on the plane

S: 1/8 c. Almonds
Two bags of kale chips (yes two)

L: Amazing Grass brand Green Superfood Raw Bar
2 small flax crackers
1/4 c. walnuts & pecans

S: 1/2 c. almonds

I am all off from traveling so I'm not even hungry for dinner or anything. I'm so glad to be home and am ready to back to normal eating! I do love the kale chips I bought, though. They don't carry that brand near me. Normally I only like the ones I make, but these were super yummy. May have to look online .... =)

Cheers!

@reneeh I do see that you do this my point was to show whether putting up a picture or listing ingredients they both indicate that its raw which is something not only i am doing but others are doing as well. If you read through the posts many don't use the word mock or raw so i also thought is was acceptable they just list ingredients or at times not even that. Just wanted to get that across, thank you for your input.

Renee, I realise, now, that she meant mock tuna though why, when I asked, she was unable to simply answer with a "yes" is beyond me. I think especially mock tuna needs to be labelled such because the real tuna is often eaten raw. Generally I think people use raw and raw, vegan to describe copy-cat dishes. I would always say courgette noodles/pasta rather than say pasta because noodles/pasta by themselves are ambiguous words on a raw forum.I only asked for clarification. Why is that unreasonable?

Yesterday flew by as I was super busy so I'll post both yesterday & today at the same time (haven't had dinner yet but I know what I'm eating....).

From 1/17:
B: Banana & 'chocolate' smoothie - banana, cacao, dates, water, flax seed, matcha, & maca poweder
Snack: Chopped pineapple with coconut flakes
Lunch: Spinach salad with sauerkraut, sprouts, sunflower seeds & dressing (apple cider vinegar, miso, ginger, nama shoyu, flax oil) & nutritional yeast
S: Mango smoothie - mango, romaine, mint leaves, coconut oil, water
D: Tomato 'soup' - tomatoes, coconut oil, miso, ginger & garlic
Plus some raw pistachios - about 2 handfuls

From Today:
B: Blueberry smoothie - blueberries, almonds, cinnamon, blue-gree algae, matcha, coconut oil
S: Pineapple drink - pineapple, ginger, kale, & cayenne (made a large batch)
L: Bok choy soup - bok choy, cucumber, avocado, lemon, miso, cayenne, turmeric
S: Leftover pineapple drink from the morning & 2 handfuls of pistachios
D: Tomato Soup II - tomatoes, avocado, garlic, nutritional yeast, salt & oregano

I really want to make my own kombucha b/c for whatever reason it acts like a total pick-me-up for me, but buying it at $5 per bottle is ridiculous. So that is my task for the weekend - order the "mother" and get ready to ferment. =)

I also would love advice on this - I host an annual potluck at my place for my book club. Everyone has respected my veganism in the past and the fact that I have Celiac, so we've kept the event totally vegan and gluten-free. It's next week - I don't expect people to also do raw at this event, but I don't want them bending over backwards to make dishes I don't want to eat. Should I tell them just to keep it vegetarian but that I'm doing a month of 100% raw? I was thinking of not saying anything and just loading up on my own dishes, but I'm torn. We are a meat-free house, so even if I'm not eating it I don't do meat here so I can't say, "Bring whatever." Any thoughts? My friends tell me to just eat cooked that day b/c it won't kill me. Hmmm.....

There are all sorts of ways you can sneak round the issue but ultimately up to you; good friends will understand.

Good luck with the kombucha. I have not tried it and not sure if it's the sort of thing I think I would like. One day I will get around to it. Not sure how available it is in the UK.

2 cups of nuts (hazelnuts, walnuts and some peanuts).
2 tablespoons of ground flaxseeds
3 cups of water
3 dates
1 handful of blueberries

Even my friends liked it! :D

I had various raw stuff as I mentioned but I did make a ginger tea. 4-5 thin slices fresh ginger, hot water, large tsp honey, juice half a lime. It was very good though only partially raw I think. Herbal teas seem to be allowed however- lots of people talk about various teas.

Isn't licking the bowl the absolute BEST!!!!! You can't do that with SAD ingredients that needs to cook! Another SCORE for RAW!!!!

@ QueenBee: Have you ever made Rejuvelac? I make it all the time and use it for Smoothie Water. It doesn't have the fizz as Kumbucha does, but it's a lot easier to make and is FANTASTIC!!!!

I made the most AMAZING Marinated Baby Portobellos yesterday!!! Having leftovers today, so I'll upload a photo. I used Herbamare in the marinade....LOVE IT! I also found a recipe yesterday online for Buckwheat Porriage. It's similar to Alissa's Chia Pudding in RFFE, but it adds soaked Buckwheat. Looking forward to trying it!

L: Big salad with mixed greens, sauerkraut, avocado, corn, tomatoes, capers... I forget everything on it
S: Mint-Stawberry smoothie (strawberry, avocado, mint, spinach, dates)

@ Renee - I thought I had more grains in my pantry... sheesh. I don't have wheat OR rye berries and I can't get to the co-op until Thursday. But I really want to try this now! So I looked around and saw that you can basically use almost any grain. Over at Rawmazing she says quinoa works well. But I know how experienced you are so thought I'd ask for your vote:

Okay, which do you think: quinoa or buckwheat?

I will definitely do it again when I get the wheat berries (we always have these on hand - I can't believe we're out) b/c I want to make the Grezzo cheese as per the recipe. I don't have any macadamia nuts but can get them - is it better to add in the macs with the cashews?

Thanks!

ReneeH
01-22-2013, 11:39 AM
@ QueenBee: Well....I've only used Wheat or Rye Berries. I would definitely not use Buckwheat because the water gets merky and slimy! Quinoa I'm not sure about. No worries! I'll go ahead and make it since I'm soaking the berries. Then, I'll wait for you to catch up and we'll make Grezzo Cheese together! Ooooohhh!!!! Fun!!!!!!!

I like the combo of the 2 nuts, but if all you have are 1 kind, I'd just use that. I have raw nuts in my freezer, so I'm good to go when you are!!! :D

Snack: pomegranate and blueberries w/cacao nibs
Lunch: green salad w/sprouts & cabbage & pepitas & homemade dressing (apple cider, nama shoyu, miso, garlic)

Dinner: broccoli dill soup (spinach, broccoli, cashews, miso, dill, lime) - I have yet to eat this but it's made so I know I'm eatin' it!
Snack: handful of pistachios - haven't eaten this yet either, but if I write it down I'll only eat one handful instead of two, right? ;)

I have Whole Food jealousy.... the nearest one to me is an hour away. Sigh.
So far so good - no tails yet on the wheat/rye. My quinoa stuff is already in the gallon container turning into rejuvelac. How on earth do you know when it's become rejuvelac - does it just happen in 24 hours? It seems way too easy.... =)

PS - That spanish barley looks so good.... mmmm. The avocado-chocolate pudding was interesting. The recipe in RFFE wasn't doing it for me, so doctored it up adding more cacao, dates & coconut. Then it was tasty. But straight as-is from RFFE left me with a funky avocado aftertaste. I will definitely look at a recipe with thai coconut. Coconut should be my middle name ... yum.

Hey Queeny, make sure you're rinsing your berries several times a day. Don't let them dry out. I'm sure you know to keep them on the counter, NOT the frig, right? I usually see something of a sprout the 2nd day.

OOOHHH, they're building a brand new Whole Foods here in Katy that will open in the 30th!!!! I have to drive 20-30 minutes to go to one in Houston right now. So, I'm excited about the new one! I may even christen it with a couple of raw demos!

Yea, I wasn't feeling the Avo-Pudding either. Try this one:

STRAWBERRY COCONUT PUDDING

2 Cups fresh Strawberries
1 Cup Thai Coconut Flesh
2 TBSP Raw Agave
1/8 tsp Sea Salt

Be sure to Vita-Mix or high speed blender this one... Makes it SUPER smooth!!!!

Was out again for most of the day, but I planned ahead and brought my food with me!

Breakfast: blueberry-vanilla smoothie
Snack: diced apple sprinkled with crushed pecan and cinnamon
Lunch: big green salad with sauerkraut, capers, corn, tomatoes, avocado
Snack: more blueberry-vanilla smoothie
Dinner: creamy broccoli soup - it was so tasty and filling yesterday I had to have it again today (recipe in RFFE) - warmed it in dehydrator so I could be warm, and topped it with nutritional yeast
Snack: raw dessert - it's basically like a brownie, but actually it was just the recipe for the bottom of a dish that you top with fruit stuff ... but I just made the bottom and ate it like a brownie as I was craving more chocolate this evening - totally hit the spot. And the kids all loved it! (dates, walnuts, cacao, dash salt, splash of water)

Now I'm off to make some warm 'tea' since it is FREEZING again here... and snowing.... and did I mention FREEZING?!?!? =)

Not sure if I should strain today or tomorrow (?) - I've read different things where some say just let it ferment overnight, others say 3-5 days. My quinoa stuff is a throw-away. Bummer. It sounds like you're doing very well!! :cheer:And I have to say - the zucchini hummus was a bit runny, but not too bad. I would like it better if it were a bit thicker. I may play with it next time. But it wasn't as runny as I've had it before so I'm improving as time goes on....

@ Red Cedar - I'm doing marinated mushrooms this week, too. So delicious.

I need to edit my food yesterday to add the dessert I had last night... I made walnut "candy" balls - walnuts, dates, vanilla, rolled in either coconut or cacao.

My boyfriend and I made a raw pizza today!

We used two recipes from Ani Phyo's book "Ani's Raw Food Essentials" - "Instant Pizza Crust" and "Sun-Dried Tomato-Ketchup".
We then topped it up with carrots, bell pepper, mushrooms, lentil sprouts and arugula! It's really yummy and soooooo filling, I can't believe it! W00t! :D

I only ate half of my half, because it's really, really filling, but this way I still got lunch for tomorrow! :D
We also made orange and grapefruit juice for dessert! Nom! So proud. :D

I'm still here but a little derailed the past week. Various reasons, too boring to go into!

Starting the day with 1/3 of a large melon :)
Will start juicing at lunch time - pineapple, apple and carrot with a little lime juice and I have spirulina in the car so may add a little of that to each glassful.

Yesterday got away from me (didn't even get home until 930p), so here are my foods for the past two days:

Jan 28:
B: Grapefruit smoothie
S: 2 bananas
L: Huge shredded cabbage salad with an orange-ginger dressing
S: Leftover grapefruit smoothie
D: Creamy broccoli soup
S: handful nuts

Jan 29:
B: Vanilla-orange smoothie
S: Chopped apples tossed with vanilla and mixed with a nut "crumble"
L: Avocado, tomato, basil, olive, green onions, apple cider vinegar, nutritional yeast, olive oil - tossed together
S: Curried zucchini soup
D: Marinated mushrooms, cucumber, & carrots wrapped in large lettuce leaves

Glad to see people still posting - for me today is Day 30!! 100% raw! =)
I typically eat a large percentage of my diet raw, but since the end of summer the % has consistently drifted downward. I'm so happy to have started 2013 off with a solid 30 days of pure raw, including while I was traveling and hosting a dinner party. Just a great way to start my year. And the best part - my husband has been 99% raw (100% minus a cookie or two, lol) since mid-month. It's really cool to have him along for the ride.
Thank you so much for all of the support!

Right so, I saw the conversation above about Rejuvelac, got interested, googled it, realized i had the makings for it (buckwheat sprouts) and it is now day two. It smells like cabbage water. I. Am. Afraid.
Is it supposed to smell like that? Honestly, leaving sprouts at room temp in water for two days, I can't imagine it wouldn't, but I want some kind of affirmation before I dare sip that thing!

may have gained a pound...gonna go look at Renee's thread on eating low fat for a month. need some good filling foods minus all the nuts we've slipped into eating here.

I have the same concerns about the rejuv. I am on batch 2 because I read you can use the berries twice... so far so good.

What is the low fat thread? I think my diet could use some trimming.... Would love to read more. :)
