Guys, I've been juice fasting for around 12 days now.

I typically have about 2-3 large "cups" of juice during the day.

I'm not going overload on the sugars, nor am I restricting carbohydrates. Typically It'll be like 1 apple, lettuce(s), spinach, lemon, celery, etc or like Kale, broccoli, ginger, lemon, asparagus, 1 green apple, etc.

I'm literally so weak, and so bed-ridden.. every time I stand up I'm dizzy, everything goes black and it's like I'm about to leave my body.... if you know what I mean.

I'm sleeping in nearly all day, and have ZERO energy. I can't move off the couch, it was a chore to take out the garbage this morning, I was panting and light-headed. And i'm NOT exaggerating any of this.

I'm a 23-yo male!

I look terrible. Deep dark circles under my eyes, new wrinkles, my hair is thinning and falling out, I'm skinny like a concentration camp victim. I get this is "detox" stage at the beginning, but has everyone else gone through this extreme!? Am I really detoxing or is this some severe starvation response!?

I figured I would be feeling better, but I'm not, it's just getting worse each day!

I've also been doing daily enemas.

SHOULD I SHIFT TO AN ALL-SMOOTHIE DIET NOW!???? I think I am going to not juice anymore and roll with the fiber. My theory is that my body needs it, because I don't poop all day, then do an enema and [excuse me but I'm being real:] horrible horrible shit comes out of me. So I feel like my bowels aren't naturally eliminating and all these horrible rancid toxins are just building up in my colon. I've been taking a little psyllium and herbal teas it doesn't seem to be helping either. Maybe nature NEEDS us to be eating fiber? After all, nearly every plant food has it.

I'm totally against this "juice fast" thing now based on personal experience, because my body is falling apart atm I think it's all bogus. All these claims. Well, maybe those people didn't have caked-up colons from years of a body build T-bone steak meat diet with 300g of animal protein per day, so they don't experience auto-intoxication.

PLZ HELP!!!!!

I'm getting really scared here guys, I can barely get off the couch.. :p:confused::p

Should I stop this madness!??

IF it was me...

I would stop the enemas.
I would stop the psyllium husk (that stuff is dangerous on your system. It can create plugs!)
I would allow my body to release the toxins on it's own.

I would stop juicing asparagus and broccoli.

I would switch to more energetic juices like:

8 apples
1 piece of kale
1 stalk of celery
1 lime (without skin)
a piece of ginger

And I would up your juices to 4 litres per day.

You are dizzy because your blood pressure is lower from fasting. You aren't really feeding your body so your body is acting like you are water fasting - hence the zero energy.

When you don't fast properly it's like driving a car blindfolded and being surprised that you just hit three people.

for me my first 5 to 10 fasts i felt terrible too , then you make adjustment and it gets easier

so i wouldnt give up on juice fasting , but i wouldnt look at this one fast no matter how long you
can push it to cause a miracle of health improvement

so in my logic its not worth pushing it any farther being how weak youve gotten

ide just chalk it up to my first tough fasting work out and before ending it ide
set date to start next one and get back at it after stabilizing a while

Thanks guys.

I actually caved in and ate some guacamole with sliced cucumber "chips" today. I feel 1,000,000x better! I think I just needed the fat. I'm going to switch to a totally liquid diet now, but I can definitely see why juicing helps with detox.. AT FIRST, lol.

You can add fats to your juices. Hemp, flax, 3-6-9 oil, and avocado oil... oh and don't forget coconut oil.

Let's see... You said that you are skinny like a concentration camp victim, yet you are trying to live on two or three cups juice a day. That may be only 400 calories a day. Obviously you are starving yourself.

It might be wise for you to seek professional guidance on how you see your weight.

2-3 large cups would not be enough for me. When I juice feast I drink 1.5-2 gallons of fresh juice a day. The less you give yourself the more you will detox. Detoxing during a juice feast can be hard enough, why are you also limiting yourself so?

That's cuz you are starving yourself like they were starved. Drink more! Don't restrict carbs!

As the others have said, you look like you are starving coz you are starving! Drink more juice or switch to juices PLUS solid raw food. What research did you do before juicing? I've read lots of different bits of info I've quite a few years and only started fasting for short periods for the first time this year.

I see you got through it all alright. That is good. In my opinion I believe people drink way to little when doing a "juice fast" usually. If you get the chance look up the term juice feast. You can take in all the juice you need during a juice feast. I know some people talk about all kinds of fasts and have all kinds of opinions, but again in my opinion a few cups of juice a day is barely supplying your brain with what it needs to function properly. It is ok to drink more juice on a juice fast. Juice, being a liquid is processed by the body much more efficiently and quicker than solid foods are. This means that the body uses those calories much more efficiently and can handle more of them than you might think.

Many people who are not at a healthy weight have lost what they needed to and have become healthy by doing what many people refer to as a juice feast. They drank as much juice as they felt they needed to each day during the entire "fast" or "feast. This usually amounts to a gallon or more a day of fresh, raw and living juice. The idea is to give your body everything it needs to heal, repair, rejuvenate, rebuild and nourish itself during this time. The reason for doing this with liquids versus solids is that it gives your bodies organs a much needed break and they can concentrate their energies on strengthening themselves as well as healing any damage that might have been done over the years. Your bodies cells can rebuild themselves using fresh, clean, nutritionally packed liquids that provide it everything it needs. Detox can be the releasing of the old in order to bring in the new! In my opinion though it is good to give your body plenty of nutrients during this time so that it has the tools it needs to reboot!
