I've been water fasting today and wondered what you all do re teeth cleaning when water fasting. I have been using a neti pot for my nose and started oil pulling at the weekend as it seems to go quite well with the nasal hygiene. However after using the neti pot this evening and getting a mouthful of oil, I had to spit it out coz it felt wrong. I know Aleesha told me flavour in the mouth during water fasting is not ideal so can you describe how you deal with water fasting and dental hygiene please? Thanks.

I brush my teeth using water only and I never oil pull while water fasting.
When you put anything with flavour in your mouth your digestive enzymes react... and heart burn follows. Oh gosh how I soooooooooooooo dislike the heart burn while water fasting.

If you've never had heart burn then you're very lucky! It's a very unpleasant experience.
Also I totally agree with Aleesha, never oil pull while fasting. It's too confusing to your body to oil pull while on a fast.
I wouldn't give up on the oil pulling altogether however, I have experienced some positive effects from it. It's one of those things that feels completely wrong when you try it, but like most things... you get used to it after a while.
Try a few different oils to see what works best. I tried sesame oil first time round but had a hard time with it so I eventually settled with sunflower oil. Just see what works best for you.

Very fortunate :) I think my digestion is quite happy 99% of the time. I felt very nauseous on the last bit of my 4.5 day water fast. Not any discomfort from the stomach though.

Yes, I guess it goes against the grain but I don't know that it bothers me much. I am likely losing some of the benefits due to what you mention though.
