Hi Everybody!

I am from Texas. I am a single mom of seven children. I started my raw food journey in 2005 at 212 pounds and in pain all the time! During my last pregnancy, in 2006, I was 99% raw and had a great pregnancy and delivery. I also went to Alissa's raw food teacher training during that time. It was awesome! I loved living on raw food and was feeling great! Post delivery, I went right back to a healthy weight and was preparing for a marathon. On my 40th birthday, I ran 10 miles!

Then, disaster struck. No, not a hurricane. Prayers and good thoughts going out to all of you that live out that way. My disaster was a divorce and several other major issues in less than six months. I went back to eating the old stand-by SAD way. I gained back 46 of the pounds I had lost, plus the health problems in triplicate. My avatar is from a skirt chaser 5K I did at the height of my wellness. I want to remember what that felt like. Keep it front and center. I finally feel like I can concentrate on me again. I am back to rediscover myself. My health. My well being. My energy. Hopefully my running. Hopefully laughter again. I used to giggle in my sleep when I was raw. So, I am committing to the 30 day raw challenge and am very excited. Purchased fruit today. See you on the boards!

Yes, welcome back.

I love funny dreams and waking up in hilarity.
May you wake up tomorrow giggling until your cheeks and sides hurt.
God Bless.

I am sorry for what you went through, but you don't have to let it hold you back. Run Ahead! Research Flow State and stay in the zone http://www.ted.com/talks/mihaly_csikszentmihalyi_on_flow.html

Good luck on getting back on track with your raw journey. You know, it's like riding a bike...you don't forget how.

Thank you all! I went through the recipe section last night and became over the top excited. It is exactly like riding a bike! It is like coming home, really. It is like being back in my favorite forest. The birds are twittering. There is the smell of water in the air, mingled with salt and bark. It is cool and damp. There I feel at peace. Calm, happy. Raw feels the same way, and I don't have to go all the way to Northern California to feel it! I can't wait to get to know all of you. Have a happy day! Off to teach school.
