grr. i was trying to make 'shakalover sushi'. i shredded a carrot, cucumber, portebello mushroom, and red pepper in the food processor. added a dab of olive oil. i pulled out a couple dried seaweed sheets, spread avocado on them, scooped out the carrot/cucumber/mushroom/pepper mix, and then topped it off w/ sliced almonds.

sounds good, but it tasted awful. it was mushy and the seaweed was hard, and it didn't taste well either. i got through about two bites, then poured it down the garbage disposal.

i spent about an hour making that, so i'm kind of frustrated. *sigh* well, maybe i'll just make salads for a couple days until i venture out with another recipe.

I have known similar frustration. For many years before I went raw, I was an amazing chef type, could whip up recipes for anything off the top of my head and they'd turn out great, pastries, savories, anything.

Then when I first went raw, it was like a rude awakening, because I'd try to concoct things myself as I had before and they would turn out hideous, and I'd have to finally give up and throw them in the compost. I finally had to resolve to do only recipes from books until I really got the hang of it... then I started amending and improving those recipes, and it is only recently where I feel I can actually think up something original and have it not be godawful.

I threw a very similar wrap into my compost too!
