Hi! My name is Michelle. I am 36 year old mom, student, employee. I am so interested in going raw. I've read so much about nutrition and this seems like such a healthy way to eat/live.

Some history:

I used to drink a lot. But I have quit. However, alcohol is poison in large quantities and I'm working to get my body back to ultimate health. I also have a daughter with a rare digestive disease, so nutrition is always on our minds.

About 7 years ago, I started eating healthy (not raw, but no processed, etc) and lost 70 lbs. I kept that off for over 5 years. The past 15 months have been rough and I have gained weight back. I am so uncomfortable.

sluggish, bad skin, weight in new places. I know diet is a contributor to this and that diet can help fix it.

So, here I am.

I had a green smoothie this morning:

Spinach, fresh fruit and water. I'm going to the store today to pick up some coconut water, kale, more fruit, etc.

I don[t really have a clue what I'm doing but any step in a healthy direction has to be better than what I have been doing.

Well the green smoothie was a good place to start. If you managed to give up a serious alcohol problem you can do this.

Hi Michelle!!!! Welcome to the forum!!! Another great place to start is to get Alissa's books, if you don't already have them. You're off to a great start, though! Knowledge is POWER. Increase your knowledge for the lifestyle to stick. Make LOTS of raw dishes. If you look in the frig and see delicious raw dishes you made, you'll be more likely to reach for those when you're hungry.

Glad you're here! :)
