Greetings...

I'm glad to be here! I've been drinking in the site, browsing recipes, reading what everyone has to say.

How wonderful that I'm not alone, not at all. Is anyone else in Central Oregon? I'm in Redmond, well, 6 miles outside of town.

This is how I came to raw food:
It'll be 3 years on November 17th that I suddenly slipped into a diabetic coma, spent a week in intensive care, and came out as a brittle Type 1 diabetic. Since then it was as though my personal warranty expired. Despite extraordinary efforts, my eyesight began to fail, I was diagnosed with the onset of kidney disease, fibromyalgia, and -- this summer -- neuropathy.

I've been faithfully doing Iyengar yoga for 2 years, working with an acupuncturist and a colon hydrotherapist. I think this has been helping. I've changed my diet over the past 3 years to no dairy or eggs & more raw.

Now I'm taking the next step.

When I began to lose sensation and functionality in both arms & my right leg, I knew that I had to do something else.

On my birthday, October 29, I decided to go 100% raw. Started the next day. So far, so good.

I've been browsing the web, took a teleseminar with Gabrielle Chavez -- who suggested that I check out this site & forum -- and began experimenting.

That's it...

Welcome to the site! It sounds like you have had quite a journey to raw - I know you will find a wealth of support and information here. I know that it is only when I maintain 100% that I get the maximum benefits of my raw lifestyle! This is not to say that it does not work at lower percentages, just what works best for me!

Anyway, glad you made it here....

your so lucky not to take what doctors say they way it is. Raw food eating is the way the body heals itself for sure so you keep at it. And keep that pretty smile, smiling Doug in Calif......... :) :D ;)
