I would just like to take a moment to sing praises of Hemp Protein Powder and Vitamineral Green! As you may know from other posts, I've been dealing with some major depression here, and trying to get more protein in my diet in order to help alleviate it. The problem was, I was already getting enough fat (I eat coconut, nuts and seeds, olives, olive oil, etc), so adding more nuts and seeds to my diet wasn't helping at all. In fact, it backfired: I felt gross, lethargic, full, and had trouble looking at fatty foods after a couple days because my body just didn't want them, so I went back to having very little!

Well, I started using a couple of lean protein sources, and I notice a HUGE difference in my mood! I mean, the issues that triggered the depression are still there, but I find myself much better able to deal with them. I don't have that hopeless feeling all the time. Before, I had trouble motivating myself to even clean up the house, let alone job hunt...but I'm able to get back into doing both now. My general mood is much better, and so is my energy level.

The protein sources I've been using are hemp protein powder (two scoops once or twice a day in my smoothies), and Vitamineral Green (a little bit mixed in a drink once or twice a day). Vitamineral Green is great, I feel like I have a lot of energy using it. Its an all-raw green powder/superfood made of a slew of stuff (dehydrated land veggies, sea veggies, algaes, probiotics, enzymes). I was reluctant to try it, but I definitely feel a difference using it.

Anyway, my body feels much better using some of these leaner protein sources rather than trying to shovel in the nuts. I'm just so impressed with how quickly my mood and energy level have improved.

Hey Bethany, thanks for the wonderful post! It is so inspiring to read this! I love nuts and seeds and would eat them all the time but I know they have a lot of fat so I was looking for other sources of protein that are lower in fat. I bought some raw hemp protein powder and brought it back with me from the US but haven't used it much yet. I also have this Green Vibrance stuff that is really good but I am not sure if it is all raw. Where did you get the Vitamineral Green from? That is super cool it is helping with the depression, it seems like it really has something in it your body needs! I felt that way after taking some chlorella it was very nice!

The greens i have are by far the best i think. I like them because there are only about 8 or 9 ingredients, not a lot of herbs and fillers, just barley, alfalfa, seaweeds and probiotics. Really clean and not freeze dried or heated. Ive taken the Vitamineral Greens and didn’t feel anything on them.
The hemp powder is great but the shape shift is even better as it has added stuff in it, but either one is good, glad you feel better Bethany!

who knows more about the algaes and candida?? My health food store lady won't let me do any of the algae's because of my experiences with candida. Is she right?

Any suggestions on using the Shapeshift? I put some in my smoothie yesterday and didn't care for the way it changed the flavor. I'm open to suggestions...

I would love to see if the Hemp Protein I have purchased will enhance my moods.... I have taken it a couple of times, and find it to be a difficult experience. Mind you, I don't do smoothies, because I am still pretty lazy. I have mixed some in water (NASTY NASTY NASTY!), and organic spicey tomato juice, that I had to water down. Again, not great, and a bit difficult to enjoy. I bought apple juice to try with it. Don't know why... I haven't done it yet, though..

I must comment on the Shapeshift.
Have used it about 3 times since I got it from Alissa and today used it in a smoothie after I lifted weights in the morning before work. My energy levels at work were definitely better than they have been.
I use it in my banana/what ever else I put in it drink. :) This morning I used 1 cup of almond milk, 1 banana, 1/2 cup of blueberries and the Shapeshift. The Shapeshift taste is there but not over powering. So far this seems to be a great product.

Lauri quit being lazy break out your blender and make a smoothie :D
