One side of my neck (left) is painful. Is this likely because of the fasting I've been doing or have I just as likely got some sort of bug?

Either way, I believe oil pulling will help to purge the junk from them as it exercises the muscles surrounding the lymph nodes in your neck. Muscular contractions are what stimulate our lymph system to work, as well as the inertia applied to the system and it's valves during rebounding and walking. Look upward when you oil pull to straighten out the plumbing to and from the nodes.

I will try that tomorrow when I get up. For now I am lying down with chin raised doing gentle massage strokes downwards.

I hope you feel better and it clears soon. Sending positive thoughts your way.

Thank you :) it's tender but not unbearable at the moment and with good fortune it will abate soon.

How high up your neck is it. I got a large swelling a couple of years ago but it was in response to a cake that I bought in a raw restaurant. Every time I ate some it got bigger. It was just below my nose. There was something in it that was causing an allergic reaction but I do not know what it was.

Around the pulse point in my neck. Lymph system doing its thing I think. It's much better today though I do now have a mildly sore throat. There are lots of bugs going round at work.

back to normal more or less today and the sore throat that I had coming on yesterday is not in evidence! It's good to feel good again.

This should really have been a blog post but was hoping to hear from other fasters if they had experienced this.

I feel a bit silly having a thread about something that went so quickly :)

Don't feel silly. I think it's a fine testament to the speedy healing that comes with fasting. Had you not been juicing it may have lasted seven to ten days.
