My beloved hubby goes from about 70% to 100 % raw, and that is fine with me. (he still doesn't call himself a rawfoodist, but he is thinking like one, as I found out)

We decided to stay home this Holiday season, and do our own thing. so no friends or family.

I thought he would want to do a traditional Thanksgiving, and I would eat my raw, but HE wanted all raw.

I was really surprised by this, because I thought he would want to make a big deal out of the food, he loves to prepare foods, and all.

But he wants to make a big deal out of the raw food.

You see, I know he likes to get along, and this whole time of me eating raw, and him trying it and making it for me and sharing my raw. I was wrong.

He isn't sharing MY raw, he is being RAW all by himself.

HE wants to do the RAW Thanksgiving not for ME, but because HE wants it.

I think this is so cool.

I am always amazed my him.

He is eating more and more raw as time goes on. he makes the raw spicy nuts and eats raw raisins, I learned just recently he ate the raw cacao nibs we had (I didn't care for them-so this is good)

whenever he goes on his bike ride, he wasn't really hungry when he got home, and after a long bike ride, he usually was, so I thought maybe he was going out for a burger or something. (I don't care what he eats, I just noticed it)

but he has been eating lots of wild edibles on the trail, and I found out, he has been making raw snacks to take with him, like his raw nuts and gorp and picking our apples as he heads out the driveway.

So, while I have been busy with my latest projects, he has turned into a real raw foodist, right under my nose, without my knowledge.

How totally cool.

Wow, RP, that is so inspirational!

It's very inspiring to read that about your dh!

We are also having an all raw Thanksgiving.

I also thought dh would want the traditional Thansgiving meal.

But, he said that if I am going to be making tons of raw dishes, that he would rather he entire family eat raw and not have to prepare stuff all month long!

This shocked me.

So, maybe making all these wonderful dishes will make him realize what he is missing.

He was 95% raw before and has gone back to eating SAD.

But, hmm, maybe if I can be the example like you are to your dh, he will follow.

Great story!

Thanks for sharing!

That is inspirational! I'm only on day 4 and it never occurred to me that Thanksgiving would happen during my 30-day challenge. It will only be my husband and me, so I'm hoping he'll go along with a raw dinner that day. So far, he is only doing it for me, although he loves the meals. Do you make dishes out of Alissa's book or something different? What's a raw Thanksgiving like? I don't have a dehydrator yet, so I'm hoping I can still make some special things.

Rawpriestess,
How totally cool is right and how wonderful for the both of you! That sneaky little Dragggon going raw right under your nose. LOL! I don't know if I can talk Tee into a raw Thanksgiving but I've already made "noises" toward that end. We'll see!

Well I am thinking that it sounds like a lot of food when I look at the list of things.
But we will see and yes we will take lots of pictures to share with all of you.

I am also going to try and make some treaters ( candy and cookie types) as these kinds of things my down fall.

We make many here and are always experminting on new ones (my quest for a real use of almond pulp is still ongoing).

But any thing I can do for my lover I try and help her out on her raw lifestyle

That is why I have moved all my cooking stuff out to the garage to help keep out the cooked smells (I have noticed this is a big trigger for many raw foodists)

We will keep you all posted
