I tried raw foods in the past but it didn't work for me. I've always believed in raw foods for optimal health, but maybe I didn't give it enough time or effort. I think I was eating too many nuts, avocados, and oils. Anyway, I have been vegan since June and I think I need to start getting rid of cooked foods. It seems that for me, a gradual transition has been working the best. Since I gave up all animal products, what do you think I should give up next?

Wow Gianni, I love your new look. I can see your skin is glowing.

Icebox. Eat as many fresh fruits and veggies everyday as possible. Make that 2 out of 3 meals and your snacks. Greens are essential also. You can eat them, juice, them or blend them just make sure you get some each day. Good Luck Re-rawing. Im re-rawing again too.

Thanks Traceyraw! Just finished a 14-day juice fast. I figured it was time to update the avatar.

I love looking at all of your avatar pictures. Everyone looks so vibrant and full of health.

Gianni - Thanks for the suggestion to give up cooked grains. What kind of grains are good to eat on raw and how do you eat them? I don't have a dehydrator yet, so I can't make raw bread. Giving up grains, especially bread, has always been my downfall anytime I try to go raw.

Traceyraw - I willl do my best to add as many fruits, greens, and vegetables into my diet. If I eat more of the healthy stuff, I guess I won't have room for the junk.

Quinoa is one of the best in terms of nutrition and digestibility.

Here's a youtube video of a guy making Sprouted Quinoa Tabouli (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0jEYiystCg)

If jumping in to 100% raw is something you are ready for than go for it! If you need a more gradual transition try cutting out all the processed vegan food, especially stuff with glutens, sugar, and chemical additives and preservatives. Gluten and sugar are quite addicting so if you can get that out of your system than the rest of the transition will be a piece of cake! :)
