PLEASE... feel free to join this thread any time ... we loooove having new friends to fast with!!!
Here's are the 'rules' of this thread:
Please do not discuss specific food. Feel free to share "My hubby was eating and it was hard for me." Please don't share "My hubby was eating X, Y and Z..."
The reason we do this is so no one ends up getting a craving from a fasting thread. As a faster we can choose to click on a thread which discusses food but we need the safety within this thread to know food is not discussed. Juices are shared, M/C is shared, green smoothie recipes are shared... but not 'chewable' food.
Please join us... by listening to our theme song (http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=2539741). We all come together... from around the world to fast together and support each other. Please join us!
There is a great deal of info in this stickie (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=62026). Please take a moment to read it.
And here is a thread (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=61603) where we share our favourite recipes. If you haven't contributed yours, please do!
Here's my commitment:
I'm here to fast. I'm not here to eat. I will fast until I choose to stop but I will NOT stop my fast on a bad day, at night or today. I can choose to break my fast tomorrow in the morning but not today.
I'm here to gain health.
I'm here to gift my body the time and energy to bring my body to a state of health.
I'm here to release - whatever needs to be released. Physical, emotional, conscious or unconscious out-moded things... I'm here to release them all.
I'm here to bring a greater depth to my spirituality.
I'm here to support myself, my super amazing husband Parz, and anyone here who wants support.
I am here to continue to be mindful - focusing on this moment and not anticipating the next one.
I am here to share my experience and gain knowledge from what others share.
I'm here to feel whole. I'm here to give my beautiful, cherished body a break from digesting food!!!
This is the "Fellowship of the Fasters" - unlike the LOTRs fellowship of nine, we are a fellowship of many. We welcome newcomers daily and embrace everyone no matter what they are fasting on or their personal beliefs.
Yes you can prefer green juices to fruit. Yes you can use agave instead of maple syrup or raw honey. Yes you can juice in your Vita-Mix and use a nut mylk bag to extract your juices.
We don't care how you fast... we want to support you... and in turn, we ourselves get supported... so please... join us!!!
Come on everyone.. join in the fun and grab your Elf, Dwarf, Hobbit or Human names for our "Fellowship of the Fasters"... you just make them up, it isn't from the book/movie. (if you want to participate) and put it in your signature line!
Ever wonder how the Fellowship began?
Back when I first began fasting there were the Fasting Bandits. This was a group of amazing people who fasted together all the time. The 'theme' was a convoy of truckers. I was the water tanker! :throwhearts: Over time the Fasting Bandits moved on with their lives and weren't around much at all. A few of the members are still here... but seldom fasting anymore.
I was missing the camaraderie of the FB and was always hoping to find a new group to fast with, find support with and to support myself. The Fellowship of Fasters began because Cathy and I watch the movie Lord of the Rings a LOT and we fast together a LOT as well. We began speaking to each other as though we were Golum - and our juice was our precious.
And then the Fellowship of Fasters was born!
So to be a member... you simply need to choose a name, put it in your signature line and love fasting. You can become a life-time member or one for a short time... it's up to you.
I'm here for the long haul. My water tanker is here beside me - because I'll always be a Fasting Bandit... but now my precious walks beside on a slower path than the truckers... enjoying the grass at my feet and the flowers growing out of the cracks and crevices in the rocks around me.

I'm beginning a 3-day fast tomorrow. I have been thinking about starting a program of periodic short fasts - just posted in the Monday Fasting Club. I always fast a few times a year 7-14 days and love how it feels. I need to recalibrate my diet, and a fast is the best way that I know of.

I'm in for the entire month of October. I am certain that I will complete it and have cleared my calandar as much as I can to rest when I'm not working. Will do water the first couple of days and then on to the MC.
Did 20 days of 100% raw and fasting and lost 15 pounds and now it is time to rest.
Best wishes to all.

I woke up this morning with a desire to water fast! Me!
I haven't decided on a time span. I am just going to let it take it's course but I will probably ease into a juice fast and then to a smoothie fast before easing back into a full raw thing.
Just thought I'd check in here for hints, tips and support :)

I am in, I turn 50 on Jan 1 and want to be on my way to a healthy 2nd half of my life by then.
I will be doing a combination of smoothie and juice fast. I use my Blendtec to make my smoothies. I use the #4 button and it makes the smoothie completely smooth almost like a thick juice.
Today I made a gallon of Green Smoothie
Whole Head of Romaine Lettuce
Strawberries
Bananas
Whole Lemons (skin & seeds included)
Lots of water.
Tood luck to everyone.

No bm today - not strictly true actually. I had one when I got up but my body didn't know I was going to fast at that point. It thought it was business as usual. I'm going to go for a gentle walk at lunch break tomorrow.

6am. Day 2. Didn't sleep much last night but have been surprised at how warm I have been feeling. Day 2 Water fasting underway. I would like to do a week or 5 days or 3 days. I'm taking it slowly and seeing how I feel. Then when I break, I want to do the same number of days of juice then the same number of days smoothies. Depending on how long I water fast to start with determines the overall length of the fast. I expect won't make 30 days but only time will tell.

Had a brief slip last night. I was in so much pain from a throbbing toothache that I ate a little so I could take a motrin. So . . . this is Day One for me all over again. I do not feel bad. I am appreciating the process and simply having the desire and will to fast is enough for me right now.
My goals are to become more spiritually grounded. I am praying twice daily, mediating and reading alot of spiritual literature to achieve this goal. My second goal is to return to Raw foods 100%. It is the only way that works for me. Third and lastly to get my weight down to a number I can live with.
Once again, I am excited to be here and happy to be fasting with you all. Best of luck to all my fellow fasters.

Headache quite a bit worse but I am well hydrated so I know it's just cold turkey; I was eating some stuff I shouldn't have been the past few weeks so I only have myself to blame. The juicer is located and it's at work ready for action when needed. I plan to do at least tomorrow as well then reconsider my goal of a full week if I need to. A week would still be great but three days would be pretty awesome too. Went for a walk at lunchtime as I would really prefer a bm to come sooner rather than later. I think it will be tomorrow now though.

YES!!!! The last time I did three days, it got me got to Raw 100%. I have revised my plan and like you am going to go with the flow. My toothache is returning, but I do not want to continue to take the motrin and probably will have to pay the dentist a visit. So, I'm open now to however long I will fast. It's all good!!!!

well , second day almost over!
I just made myself tomato juice for now and orange, carrot, pears, ginger apple juice for later and tomorrow morning( I have to get up early and do not want to wake up neighbors so have to plan ) around noon tomorrow I will make fresh juice.
I am feeling great already and energy is coming - this is one of the reason I am juicing now. I need lots of energy to concentrate while studying for the test on 10/15/12.
I do not have any symptoms probably because last two months I was 90 % raw and did not drink coffee , tea sometimes.
will see, on my previous juice feasts i usually got some symptoms around day 3-4 but not later.
good luck for those who are currently juicing and those who just read - I recommend try once ( at least 3-4 days) and U will want to do it for the rest of Ur life.

I noticed in my previous feast that one of the best experiences is type of sleep I get while juice feasting. I sleep very hard but I need just few hours. I went to bed last night around 10 and woke up at 2:30 am ready to go . no alarm clock, nothing.
Additionally , feeling of emptiness in the stomach is cool too.
happy Wednesday everybody.

Hi there!
Just started my first juice fast today- WHOO! I'm very excited about the potential results of this fast, but while you guys make it sound easy, I'm halfway through day 1, and it's already hard to not fall back into my normal habits. I was wondering if you guys (even the more experienced ones) could share some or your more difficult fasting experiences, or some stories from your first fast.

well I am doing juice feast = 3-4 liters of juice a day. I never did water fast, so I cannot comment on this experience.
on the beginning it is good if U can find yourself something to do during day, not too much physical, more something to occupy your mind, so u do not think about eating lol. And also take a nap or two during day, because on the beginning U may feel little weak, but this will change soon. This is especially important during day 2 -4 when your blood glucose level will go down due to lack of glycogen in the liver. You need to give your body the time necessary to switch metabolism into breaking up fructose mostly ( and little glucose) . After U achieve this ( 2-4 day) there should be no more feeling of hunger.( I used to be so not hungry that sometimes I forced myself to drink the juice because I knew it was not enough).
Some also recommend drinking fruit juices in the morning and later in the evening drinking more veggie juices - I do not know if there is any difference to be honest.
My advice - on the first few days , drink whatever U may like and how much U like. For example, I like on the beginning to drink mostly fruit juices and later, after few days, I am slowly switching to veggie juices and lots of green juices. I heard it somewhere and it works for me.
Also U should notice that Ur sense of smell will become sharper.

I forgot to add that I made myself today really good juice - tomatoes, cucumber, green leaf lettuce, red and green pepper , and small spicy pepper, and ginger. It was spicy and really good.

does the chilli take away the taste of the cucumber juice? I love cucumber whole but not juiced for some reason. I would like to include it in juices but need to disguise it.

I finished out Day 1 with not one slip! This may not seem like a lot, but after failing to even get through a whole day of many prior "cleanses", "detoxes" and "fasts", it's nice to feel that itty-bitty sense of accomplishment again. I know that feeling will get stronger and stronger as I proceed.
Tried juicing a sweet potato tonight with my "dinner juice"- yum! It was so creamy, I felt like I was breaking my fast, but I wasn't! So filling, too. I was actually invited to get dinner with friends, and took them up on the offer, minus the food part. I juiced up my sweet potato, cabbage, carrot and pineapple, put it in a bottle, and accompanied them to a restaurant. I wasn't the least bit tempted, and still had a great time with them. Of course they were making fun of me the whole time, but I just laughed with them and owned it. When planned and handled correctly, I don't think this experience has to be "isolating" at all, as some people have said.
Used a lot of papaya in my juices today. I'd never had fresh papaya before, but they were on sale, and I thought, "Why not?" Turns out they are very unusual: juicy and sweet, but also salty and slightly savory. They added a lot of depth to the taste of my drinks. I love trying new things, so I'm glad that this fast is already opening my eyes to new tastes and experiences.
Had a bit of a headache, so I'm sipping some chamomile tea. Pretty sure I was just thirsty. I'll down a nice glass of water before bed as well.
Can't wait for Day 2!

I had headache on day two. It's supposedly a symptom of onset of ketosis. I know I wasn't dehydrated as my urine was clear. I didn't drink as much water yesterday as I feel I should have but then again, it was still about 5 pints. I take 3 x 1.5 litre bottles of water with me to work everyday. I need one of those bottle carriers.

MysticTree - to be honest I do not know if it takes away the whole cucumber taste or not, because I always mix my cumbers with other veggies and this taste mixes. I really like tomato juice, so this was my base.
littlecress - Congratulations!! first day is the worst ( well maybe 2 and 3 but U got the courage to stay "foodless" the whole day, even in restaurant !
I cant believe how fast this time goes. It is almost day 4 wow ! I was not going to weigh myself but I been tempted do start doing it twice a week ( like before)

Way to go little cress, your on your way to a successful fast, youve gotten past the hardest part.
What seemed to help me was:
I started to notice how many food commercials and adverts there are. It made it obvious how brainwashed everyone is to food instead of making me want to eat the trash I saw.
The first couple days I was struggling to keep my self busy enough to keep my mind off eating but what really helped was watching all the documentaries about juice fasting and raw food diet on Netflix.
A few of my favorites are: Fat Sick and Nearly Dead (watched this at least 10 times), Forks over Knives, The Gerson Miracle, and Food Fight.
Hope this helps.
MysticTree, thats what I call will power, good on you. I too was getting wobbly when I was working in the yard yesterday but I made a cucumber, carrot, celery, apple 32.oz juice and lost the jitters. Im learning to down some juice even when not hungry to get those antioxidants flowing. It gives me a buzz I think, Does anyone else get that feeling? As for the cucumber taste good luck on that, I have learned to just down it in one after many tries to disguise the taste of cucumber
Day 4 and I'm still going strong, Good fasting to all.

It's the morning of Day 2. I told myself I wasn't going to weigh until the whole thing was over, but I was curious... and GOOD LORD. In just one day, I weigh 6 pounds less. 6! I am well aware that most or all of it will come back when I resume eating, but those drastic numbers are plenty of evidence for me that whatever is going on in my body is pretty cool. Just juiced up some romaine lettuce, papaya, carrot, and lime, and I'm ready for another great day! Good luck, everyone!

The feeling of wobblyness I feel would go if I had a sleep. Maybe it wouldn't. Tomorrow I will start on juices though. I have no real feel for which sort of juice I should try first. Okay guys, I'm desperate for advice. I'm in college, and some friends are having a huge costume party tomorrow which will undoubtedly be super-fun. Alcohol will, of course, be a very large component of the party. I know that after a solid three days of fasting, drinking would be a really bad idea... but I don't want to miss out on the company. I plan on breaking my fast the right way the next morning, not screwing it up the night before. Do you guys have any tips for staying sociable and not feeling left out in situations like this?
MysticTree

Take stuff with you and watch out no-one spikes your drink with alcohol or anything else! You may soon discover that the situation of being with a lot of drunk people is not fun. This is not a failing in you but a failing in those who are drunk. Good luck. :)

Totally agree with MysticTree, take juice with You, I did it several times in the past. The worst one was Thanksgiving.
on the personal note - I weighted today 249.4 pounds. Since 2007 I was trying to get below 250 and several times I came to 251 or 252 and then some life occurrence happened and I stopped ( juicing, raw diet, exercise) .
Last year before my 26 day juice feast I was 298 pounds. After 26 days I was high 250 or low 260, do not remember. But I was able to loose about 30 pounds. And the best thing is I was able to keep it off for the whole year ( plus minus 7 pounds) . So four days ago I started with 258.2
My short term goal is to get below 230 and long term goal is to get to around 190. ( I just want to get below 200 ) .
Thank You everyone for the support and good luck.
Today I have been drinking watermelon juice and orange, lemon, grapefruit. Tomorrow will do greens.

well done on breaking that barrier. I had hit a similar situation the last time I was 100% raw. Still a way off catching you up but I feel much more positive about lots of things. I have some good plans laid out. I will weigh when I get up - just for the record. I am looking forward to juice for breakfast but even though I feel less than brilliant, I'm still not actually hungry.

Like MT said, bring your own juice. That way you will have a drink in your hand.
I would just try to stay upbeat, smile, and try to stay in a good mood. If anyone asks why you aren't drinking, tell them you are on a juice fast, but be enthusiastic when you are talking about it. Say how great it is, pump your fist in the air and yell "Woo-Hoo!".

First of all, thanks for the advice; I really appreciate it. I'm quickly realizing that health and friendship can go hand-in-hand with the right attitude and the right friends, which I'm lucky enough to have =) I've made the decision to switch back to solid foods tomorrow (good ones, though!), because the past few days have been just what I needed in this moment. This has been a good introduction for me. I feel stable, rejuvenated, and ready to tackle some new life choices. I'll definitely be back on here soon, maybe for a few days longer, too! I'll definitely keep up the short fasts over the next few months, and hopefully do a 10-day fast over winter break. Thanks for the support and inspiration!

I do not know if this is Ur first fast or not , but if it is I would advise not to do too much exercise because afterwords You may become very hungry I am very hungry. This was on of the reasons I had to break my fast last year - I started going to the gym and forcing myself because I felt so energized and it was mistake. now I am taking it slowly. Thanks for the advice dawrhino, good to meet you. I have juice fasted 6 months ago for 10 days and it went really good, lost 25 lbs and kept it off. Looking to do keep juice fasting this time untill Ive lost at least that much weight. I have been exercising in the mornings and am active most of the day but hunger hasnt been a problem for me at all, I drink two or three 22oz. veg juice a day and it seems to be keeping my hunger in check. I have to believe that the morning cardio helps. If Im really feeling motivated Ill treadmill in front of the tv for 30 minutes run 20%, walk 80% before bed and itll make me sleep like a baby. Soundly I mean, not crying with my thumb in my mouth. See ya around, and keep on keepin on.
MysticTree, I knew Id get frowned on for those shots I had but Ive been drinking for a long time and have been cutting down over the past few months, I know it isnt good for me. Guess I thought itd be better to throw back a few shots of vodka than a few beers. you have a good one.

I had 6 vodka shots last night, wonder how bad that was for my progress?
The alcohol will have a detrimental effect on your body and in the cleansing process, but at least everything else in your diet is healthy for the moment and so your body is perhaps better to handle it. Anyhow I'd still try to take it easy on the sauce.

I drink two or three 22oz. veg juice a day and it seems to be keeping my hunger in check.
So about 50 oz. of vegetable juice? That might be around 400 calories a day. I think I'd be starving.

Hey Gianni,
I do drink glasses of water throughout the day but should I be drinking more juice? how much do you drink on a fast? any advice would be appreciated, Thanks

I'm not sure there is a set amount of juice. I have not had much juice myself today. I had a brief spell of hunger when I was out earlier but it has passed.

everybody recommends 3-4 liters of juice a day, of course it will also depend what kind of juice U drink.
I just made myself mean green juice - kale, celery, cucumber, tomato, apple, smile lime and ginger. It is soooo yumi ! Just had 20 oz and another 20 oz for later.
I have been drinking today lots of juice because somehow in the morning I had terrible headache. After over 2 liters of juices it is over.

@juicehead - When people water fast they are getting almost no calories. So whatever works for you.
Many people fast for the weight loss, and that is one of the reasons I started juice fasting again. However, I'm looking at the long term - not just losing weight on my juice fast, but continuing to lose weight when I'm not fasting, even if it comes more slowly on my vegan (mostly raw) diet than when I juice fast.
Personally, I am a juice feast kind of guy. I probably take in around 4 litres of fresh juice when I fast (3 litres fruit juice, 1 liter vegetable/leafy greens), some days a bit more. It keeps me satisfied and makes fasting easier for me. It also gives me enough energy to go for long walks every day and light jogging a couple times a week, but most important of all, it makes it easy for me to reach my fasting target in terms of number of days I set out to fast for.

are we on day six already? wow!
I just bought case of 26 pounds of tomatoes for 8 dollars on the market. also some cucumbers, red peppers and hot peppers. Made really delicious ( and spicy juice) . only sad think is that guy on the market said he will have tomatoes only for 2 more weeks. I live in Tennessee and prices of the veggies and fruits are expensive even during the season ( when compared to Chicago where I used to live ) so I do not know how long will I be able to continue my feast. Will see. I am just poor student now, without work.

At least you can be glad of these two weeks. You could do one day water every now and then to ease costs :)

thank You MysticTree, this is really nice idea, I could even do few days water fast in between - have anybody tried this? 10 days juice feast, 5 days water fast and 10 days juice feast? or something similar ? ( like every 3-4 days water fast?) I have to read more about it because I have never water fasted before.

wow great! congratulations.
I just hope I will have enough will power to continue because when my wife was cooking yesterday , it smelled so good and I was getting hungry. Not even for cooked food, I was just thinking about salad. But I read my commitment few times and so far so good. Still drinking juice from yesterday, have to go to store buy some greens.
Oh, have U tried to add jalapenos to Ur juice? it will for sure help with the cucumber taste.

I'm going to do a three-five day water fast, then go off into juice fasting. I really need to release some stuff right now.
Anyone ever incorporated green smoothies into their fasting? I have a bin of organic baby spinach, but if I try to juice it, I end up wasting it and not really getting anything out of it.
dawrhino
10-07-2012, 11:00 PM
i do juice spinach and I usually get some stuff of it, I do not understand what U mean by wasting? U could say this about any fruit or veggie that U juice.
I often drink green smoothies ( spinach, banana , strawberry, water) but not now while on juice feast.
8 day I m coming , however I was ssoooo close to breaking it today.

Well I guess it's because my juicer is cheap or isn't built for herb or plant-like foods. When I try to juice these things they just fly into "pulp pit" and no juice comes out at all. It juices fruits, cucumbers and celery juice fine, though.
Anyway, like I said, I get more use out of the spinach when I just put it in a smoothie. I can eat more of it, annnd it's quick to make.

It's by no means perfect but if you tightly wadge-up the greens they juice ok through a centrifugal juicer. I keep meaning to try hollowing out a chunk of cucumber and putting the greens inside that and then putting say an apple on top in the feed-chute to see if that helps at all. Definitely possible but far from perfectly efficient.
Yummy, yummy juice for breakfast - Apple, Carrot, beet, 2-3 inches of cucumber (yay me!!!), celery and ginger.
Lost 15lbs this past 7 days - I have even had comments in work that I look slimmer and that was from one of the lads! Trousers that were tight last week are comfortable now and I feel really good and content.
Most interesting for me is that I haven't felt cold, not even when I was just having water. I intend to make fasting a regular thing. Probably 5 days a week in the short term then longer periods further apart.

Some of that time you will spend sleeping, yes? Only you can know what you will do. If it's raw it's good. If the fast is over it's good. If it continues it's good. :)

You can do what you think is best for you. If you eat lightly (break your fast correctly) and then go back to your fast, why not? There are no limitations except staying raw and doing what is best for you.

I made juice for one of my work colleagues at lunch today. She liked it so much that she's asked me to make one every lunchtime and will pay me! It will cover the cost of my lunchtime juice, thus reducing my food bill for the day by approx 50% :)

Hi all,
I am still here had a few set backs, very very small ones, so I am not beating myself up. I totally forgot to make my smoothie before work to day so I bought the Naked Green Juice, I know not raw but better than nothing. It has no sugar and pretty much everything that I put in my smoothies.
Will be back on track tomorrow.
Good luck to all

I told you I'd be back! My 2-day mini intro last week was great, and I'm ready to start working up to more prolonged fasts. I go out of town (and away from a juicer) on Sunday, so I can only commit to a three-day fast at the moment, but since I'm such a newbie, this is probably a necessary step for me anyway if I ever want to go longer. I always want to jump head-on into things (like a 10-day fast!), but then I get so intimidated by the huge commitment that I chicken out and give up almost instantly. I just have to accept that I am a person who needs to take baby steps to achieve her goals. Thanks for being such a great resource for me while I learn!

fancied a vitamin C blast this morning - it's practically knocking me out of my chair orange, lemon, kiwi, carrot and apple. very pretty colour and so sweet! A nice treat for this dreary morning.Swollen glands are way down and not so sore.
Little cress, I understand the juicer dilemma because I don't have electricity at home. I take my juicer in to work and only use that juicer there. At weekends I have my wine press which actually make superior juice. I grate everything first then press it. The juice is 99.9% free of even tidy sediment forming stuff and it tastes better than from the centrifugal juicer made juice.
I know lots of people who travel with their juicers. Maybe that's something you can contemplate?

Made a delicious juice for lunch today! A whole cucumber, 1/2 bunch of celery, 1 big tomato, a spring of green onion and splash of lemon juice. Made a ton and was very filling.
MysticTree, sounds like you have a great system! Juicing wouldn't be very practical or appropriate for this trip (gonna be staying in a very small apartment with 6 other people, and will be very busy), but I do intend on eating as cleanly as possible while I'm there, and picking back up with juicing when I get home. I'm gonna be in New York City, so I do look forward to hitting up a couple of juice bars in my free time. I've never been to one, I figure it'll be a fun treat, and might also make juicing seem less scary to my travel buddies.

Lots of people commenting at work about my juices and saying how disgusting they are. I say try it and then you can say it's disgusting. So now I have them admitting that the juices actually taste nice (my boss is having a pint every lunchtime with me) but they all agree with each other that they smell horrible. Baby steps :)

Today's my second day of juice fasting. During the night I felt like I was starving and now I feel so satiated. Stuffed even. I don't know how I'll be able get 86 ounces down, especially while drinking water.
I just had a juice of carrot, beet, honey crisp apple and ginger. It was awesome. I'd never had beet before, let alone juiced it and the color was so... pretty.

Hi
I am on day 6 of my one month juice fast. The first few days were really hard for me but I feel much better already. I decided to do it while in sri lanka as it is so peaceful here and it helps that I don't really like curry which is pretty much all they serve here! I there is a lack of vegatable juices here so I have been buying my own and asking the hotel to blend it. I usually have to start the day off with ginger or lemon tea and then a juice with avacado in (for example this morning was avacado/papaya. The rest of my juices throughout the day are vegatable ones. I was wondering if it was ok to have avacado in the morning. Or is it better to have just fruut juice? I am not a fan of banana and fruit with a lot of sugar in. But feel that your most heavy or sugary juice should be in the morning?
Another question- I got up the other morning and nearly blacked out, felt very dizzy. I'm finding I have to stand up very slowly all the time. Is this normal?
I am quite a slim person, weighing around 54 kg. Will I loose a lot of weight in a month? I don't want to end up looking very frail.
Hope someone can answer some questions! Thanks very much!

So I was reading up on beets and apparently if you have too much beet juice it can lead to a build up metals in the liver. The article on Livestrong.com even says to have one beet a week. I've had like five in the past few days. Great. I'm really worried, now.
MysticTree
10-15-2012, 04:40 AM
I wouldn't worry too much. Just research more. Might be worth asking Arky what he thinks about that though. He is very knowledgeable on metals. The same web page states we should all be "treating" fresh juices to prevent bacterial sickness. I also found various other sources saying that beetroot juice is good for dealing with metals. I was juicing a couple a day last week when I was having juices.

Wow I can’t believe I found a fasting thread. Geeze this website has everything!
Just thought I would pop in and say hi. I know it is a bit late in the month to join this thread but today I am starting a juice and smoothie fast. Tomorrow is the full moon so I guess I am going with the moon cycle.
Last week I did a two day juice and smoothie fast as a trial run and I was successful so now I am going to attempt a longer one. I am not sure how long I will do this for but for now I am setting a goal of 7 days (with the exception of Wednesday because I have an event I am going to).
Anyhow, I am excited to get to know other fasters. How is your fasting going?
Many Blessings,
Crystal

Thank you Gianni,
This is my first longer fast so I am taking it easy and including a few days of smoothies in there. Do you think this is bad? I recognize that everyone has a different definition of fast. However, someone commented on my blog post that I am not really fasting. So now I am concerned that perhaps I am in the wrong place and should find a cleansing forum instead. Are there any limits on this forum? In the beginning it says that it is ok to discuss green smoothies so I am assuming I am in the right place. I am really hoping to find a sense of community here because in my immediate life one else around me is partaking in my fast much less my raw adventure.

Hey yau'll!!!!! Ok...I have a day off today, so I'M GONNA DO IT!!!! Just water today....no Lemon or Lime. I do have to homeschool today, but that's it. So it's probably the perfect day to attempt a water fast. I'm glad I'm deciding to do this upon waking this morning. Somehow knowing I fasted through the night makes me feel strong right now.
Yea, I'm TERRIFIED at the thought of being hungry, but I WILL commit to water fasting at least until this time tomorrow.
I commit to posting here before I break my fast (so you can hold my hand) or before I throw my kids out if the window...whichever may come first!!!! :)
I commit to not thinking about food today, and focusing on my relationship with God and meditation.
I will take it one hour at a time and focus on cleansing and Detoxing.
I'm READY you guys!!!! Bite the BULLET!!! Let's DO this!!!!
