I know everyone is different, but...I have to ask anyway.

Since recovering from my ED I'm still binging, even on raw food. I mean, I'm eating a lot! I don't know if this will taper off without me doing something drastic to make it stop. Is there anyone out there that has delt with compulsive/emotional eating and have slowly gotten over it?

I'm reading on here and on another forum the amount that people eat raw and simple, it seems SO little compared to what people "should" be eating. I know that there is the government standard engrained into our societies mind now and that realistically our bodies need much less, but does it take a while after going raw to find you need to consume much less?

I know that while on my trip to Australia for 3 weeks I sustained on about 2 pieces of fruit and two medium salads (romaine, tomatoes, cucumber, shredded carrots) a day and was fine. I just lost weight but felt so entergetic and alive. was that just my body used to it? Now I'm eating so much raw and heavier stuff I guess and I am waking up tired and constantly fatigued.

Any suggestions/advice/answers would be appreciated! Thanks!

i understand the adjustment from ed behavior to raw foods. i don't really have any advice, as i am just starting out, but i do understand. i too wonder if i am eating "too much" b/c it seems to be more than what everyone else eats. i just attribute it to old patterns dying slowly, but starting to die nonetheless. i believe that as i get more used to eating raw foods, my compulsive eating behavior will start to taper off more as my body is more satisfied.

hope this helps. :)

Hey there. Interesting question. First when you say you are "eating too much"
what are you eating more of ...veggies, fruit, or the dense things you mentioned ? IMO it is not a big deal to over eat veggies..and fruit !! You may be responding to the over eating guilt based on your past experience when eating raw.

You mention the trip and how you were eating on the trip and you felt great. What stimulated you to eat that way why gone form home, and what influences are you facing at home that are different from when you were traveling. I would think about that and try to get back to that place for a moment and explore that thought...then create that environment in your mind see if you can identify some triggers since you got home.

I find I am eating more on the raw because it takes more "Volume" of food to get to the amount of food I need. Veggies are not near as caloric as a chicken breast or a potato...so it is OK that I am eating more ! So the issue may not be the over eating but the food choice you are overeating. Next time you get the binge pick a food and eat only that see if the binging continues...pick a head of brocolli or a bag of carrots, or a pile of apples and see what happens.

I would suggest starting the day witha large green drink. They are magical and will sustain you meet some of your nutrient needs and hydrate you.
Binging often is learned behavoir but ALSO due from a lack of something nutrients in the diet. The green drink made with kale is great for this. Add an apple and other greens too.

Best to you......
