Hi, I have a question about sprouting, I feel so dumb not knowing this but I don't so I hope you can help me out.
When I want to sprout a nut like almonds do I use the nut with the shell or just the nut? Told you it was a dumb question but hubby and I just didn't know the answer.
I only have Alissa's book for information so far and I couldn't find anything explicite about this.
Thanks for any help.

Sounds like something I would ask :D

You don't need the shell. I buy everything shelled already. I've got enough work to do ;)

And hey, most of will answer just about any question, if it means helping someone go raw!

I think that is an excellent question, you know I have never seen anywhere that it explains this. I bet you are not the only one who didn't know this.

Kmik is right, you don't use the shell, and in no other nut or seed things either.

You can either shell them yourself, or you can buy them shelled. It is up to you. Everyone has their own preference.

Trust me on this, every one of us on this board, got where we are by asking questions, reading books, talking to other raw fooders, or something, we ALL needed assistance, and still do.

At least that is why I'm here. I'm always asking questions, and finding out new things, I never knew, and I've been aware of the raw path for years now.

But, I love to learn, and everyone has a different way of looking a things, and I love to hear all about everyone's recipes, and experiences etc.

Welcome to the forum, I hope to see alot more of those great questions coming in. :)

Thanks so much for the information, you guys are the greatest.
I've had two former posts on this forum and both times I said that I'm going 100% raw tomorrow but then something went wrong and it didn't happen.
One of the main reasons for this is because where I live grocery stores are at least 30 miles away and the closest health food store is a two hour drive from home. We've finally decided to order on-line and that is what I did today so supply's should be rolling in soon. Tomorrow is fruit and veggie shopping so at least I'll have that to start although the produce up here is usually horrible but I'll do my best. Think I'll order some grapefruit and oranges from California, can't go wrong there.
Thanks again for all of the information
