I have been 100% raw since February of this year and have not had any health problems. This weekend however due to circumstances of not being able to eat raw I had a couple of cooked meals both vegan. Monday and Tuesday I slept poorly and felt bad but today I have a fever, headache, and cough. Do you think this is detox or cold. If it is a cold what would be the best foods for me to heat to help heal? I took some White willow and L_lysine this morning. All suggestions would be helpful...thank you!

You ate poorly ~ it's detox. Give it a day or two ~ the usual, plenty of water with lemon juice. You're fine.

Even if it was a "cold" (whatever that is ~ uh, detox?) ~ same thing ~ warm water with lemon juice.

Thank you Revvell, I was hoping that is what it is. You are right about it being detox either way. And in my earlier post I meant the best foods to Eat NOT heat. Ha ha concentration is low also:)

When we're feeling a little under the weather/detox.. we up our vit.C through lots of vit.C rich foods! It helps boost your immune system.

That would be great if the cause were external but, it's not.... Anyway, ANY vitamin rich raw food is good anytime.

Yup we do here as well. Even if it's an internal detox... the vit c seems to assist with moving it through faster.

Thanks for all the replies. I have upped my Vit C and also am using a little more nutritional yeast and kombucha. It has turned into a sinus problem but maybe I can keep it from going into a full blown infection.

I think anything that you feel will help is helpful. It's part of the positive thought process having a positive outcome - in medical speak, placebo effect.

Well this vitamin C is a completely new thing to me... but would be very thankful if you can tell us what you have to suffice your vitamin c needs.

If you can find it, acerola (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malpighia_emarginata) is a great source of vitamin C.

Here's another list of 10 foods high in vitamin C (http://www.healthaliciousness.com/articles/vitamin-C.php). Be sure to check the ones below the 10 where they have acerola listed. It says that one single acerola cherry has 140% of the daily recommended value of vitamin C.

Make you some Samurai Cider. Directions are on YouTube. I'm guessing you're pretty much done with the detox by now though, eh?
