We may be moving there in 2005, but in the meantime, I am trying to learn as much as possible about the area. It seems that the nearest Whole Foods is in Redondo Beach. Where do you purchase your organic produce in this area?
Thanks!

In Laguna Beach???
There are a million places! We always go to mothers at least once a week to stock up on everything, which is about 15 minutes through side streets from south Laguna. They also have already made raw food and packaged raw foods, cookies crackers, etc. and even have some raw dishes in their deli case! They have the best produce, have you ever been to mothers market? There are 4 but only in CA in this area and they are THE best markets anywhere, whole foods pales miserably compared to mothers.
And then there are a bunch of other places around but there is a wild oats in the center of town. Also on Saturdays there is a farmers market that has a table full of organics. We just discovered that and found, the most incredible tomatoes, romaine, eggplant, all different peppers, broccoli, etc...
Where are you moving? Unless its somewhere in Ca or some island, im sure you'll be pleasantly surprised!
Laguna Nigel, Laguna Hills and Laguna woods are all close, even closer to mothers.
Best,
Alissa

There is also a good organic farm stand in San Juan Capistrano not too far from Laguna Beach. It sells produce only (address below). Otherwise, Mother's market in Laguna Woods is excellent. It's the most "hard core" health food store in the area. There is a Whole Foods in Tustin, but it's sort of a trek to get there. For some reason Whole Foods has neglected the Southern Orange County area.

Oh my gosh...thank you everyone. We are waiting to finalize a job situation so we are just at the very beginning stages of considering this move, though things look pretty positive. I am making a trip the first week in January and will begin exploring. You know that Mother's will be my first stop! I have never been there.
I'm not quite sure yet what part of this area I will be living in..but it will be in the general vicinity of the areas you have mentioned. Once again, thanks. I feel optimistic! I hope you don't mind if I ask more questions about this area in the future.
