I saw these little plates shaped like fish and I just had to get them. I think they will go great with my tuna salad and samon pate don't you agree?

In the picture below is tuna salad in one plate and Alissa's Mayo in the smaller plate.

Those fish plates are adorable, especially for the tuna.

Add a little dill weed and a fresh lemon wedge, maybe a wedge of tomato and you are set.

Yeah, I agree, the plate needs more garnish. I was just so happy to have found these plates. I am really learning that decor means a lot when it comes to enjoying your food. Does anyone else share my feelings on this?

cool & sort of makes you happy that sort of presentation.

I have a fish mold, it was really cheap $1.25. It is one of those thin clear plastic molds for molding chocolate if you know what I'm talking about, I got it at a store that sells baking supplies and chocolate molding stuff. (the whole mold is just one fish, so it holds a fair amount of pate) So I put the pate in and it comes out in the shape of a 3-D fish, then I put that on the plate. If you're doing a buffet it's great because it gives people some idea what they're eating, then they're not surprised by a "fishy" taste ;) .

I do. Presentation is so important. If it doesn't look fresh and clean, I'm not interested in eating it. For me, it's also "perceived value". If something is presented very prettily, with garnish, in a lovely bowl or plate, I subconsciously think it is "worth" more, than if the same food was slopped into an ugly styrofoam bowl with stuff dripping down the side.

In eating, we see and smell things before we taste them. It's pretty common not to taste something that isn't visually appealing or that smells badly.

Those are really cool plates SamuelWilson. They look very Asian.

Does anyone remember the crazy song:

Fish heads, fish heads, roly poly fish heads;
Fish heads, fish heads, eat them up...yum!

Oh, have I got an idea. Play the sound of ocean waves and sea gulls softly on the stereo while you serve tuna salad on the little fish bowls.

Sharon, YES, I do,, lol

Wasn't that Saturday Night Live? or was that Second City? man oh man about 20 years ago, when I was 3, LOL

Samuel Wilson, I think presentation is VERY important in serving.

In fact it can make or break a truly fantastic meal.

Think of this:

You want something to eat, so you pick up an apple, that isn't quite enough, so you grab a handful of almonds, and a couple of dates.

or You take a beautiful ripe delicious bright red apple, slice it into beautiful shapes nice thin slices, then scatter slivered almonds on the thin slices of apple, then in the middle you arrange, a few nicely chopped dates.

Big difference, HUmmm, that sounds, good, I should go make that.

Anyway, yes, I agree, presentation is important, I like the pretty dishes and juice glasses you use, with pieces of fruit, they always look so refreshing and ready to consume, kind of like they are happy to be eaten.

YEP, that's it, Samuel Wilson's Happy Meals, I like it.

Along with the Firehouse Cashews. YUUUUMMM

Nobody commented on my "ocean waves and sea gulls" idea. Is this a good idea or no?

Sharon,
They don't wear sweaters and they don't play the drums. :D

I think it was from a radio show called "Dr. Demento".

Samuel,
Don't cry now, we were sleeping. :p I like the idea, as I love the sound of the ocean.
