I have a problem with the tendon in my right bicep that when I don't warm it up enough before I work out that it gets really really painful and causes me to have to stop doing my upper body work out until the pain goes away. It is the part that goes into the elbow not the tendon up to the shoulder rotater cuff. Anyhoo I wonder if anyone knows for certain wheater you are supposed to ice or use heat? Help in this area would be great as I have people arguing with me over both treatments and now I do not know what to do. Additionally I have found stuff online that supports both. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks

If it is a new injury, or you just re injured it..ice....if the injury is still bothering you are a few day of ice then heat it. When I re injury something I immediately re ice it and take nsaids..then I use biofreeze in between.

The general rule is, for inflammation you ice it. If it is just sore then heat is always nice. Cold draws blood away, heat draw blood towards. Maybe your elbow needs to pop? Try massaging it using your opposite hand. Use the fleshy part of the inside of the hand just under the thumb (its called the thenar eminance,) and rub, especially between forearm and upper arm.
Hi,
I strongly suggest getting to your doctor, get a referral if needed and see a PT ( physical therapist). It could be so many things and you don't want to mess with it. It's better to get it looked at and let it heal then continue to make it worse and have a lifelong problem.
Is it a new injury ? How long have you rested it ? It could take 7 days or 7weeks to recover, again, depending on the injury.
