Hi,
I watched Alissa's DVD and realized that I was lying to myself and have not been 100% raw. Even though I had given up coffee 2 weeks ago, I was still having a few cups of tea and chewing some sugarless gum. Somehow I told myself these didn't count and I had to have them. The truth was I was still addicted to caffeine and to the artifical sweetner in the gum.

It was so funny because in one part Alissa talks about the coffee and tea, and mints. I saw myself then! Well I decided to stop having the tea and gum. I went through my apt and got rid of all of it. By yesterday afternoon I had a major exteme headache! The headache lasted all night and I kept waking up. It was one of the worst headaches I've ever had! It was really incredible to me, I hadn't thought I was still so addicted. This is a real learning experience.

So now it's really 100% raw. :)

Yep, I've done the same thing in the past. I quit coffee last November and went for a few months and then added it back in rationalizing that it was the one thing that would be ok.

I'm on day 3 without the coffee and my headache is still looming, but it's a good kind of headache if that makes any sense. I know that what I'm doing is the right thing for my body and the pain is a reminder that I'm getting all the toxic stuff out of my body.

Good for you for being truthful with yourself! :)

Karen,
Great job! I know it's not easy. I like your way of thinking about the headache. Mine is still there too, I think it might take a few days, but we're getting through the worst part. One thing that was helping me is that I read that caffeine makes the blood vessels constrict and when you don't have it anymore, they go back to normal and that is why you get a headache. So the headache is a good thing.

We should be feeling great by next week!

I wish you the best.
