Any other mexican food lovers out there... beware! If you have not tried Alissa's spanish rice recipe... you need to! I have been sprouting my barley and finally mixed it together this morning. OH WOW, it is delidious! Of course, I really spiced mine up with extra chili powder and cayenne (I LOVE spicy foods)... well, really all the spices. The flavor is just remarkable! I will make this more often - and its SO simple! Now I wish I had sprouted more barley! LOL
I have to get some tomatoes, that is the only ingredient I was missing, but will post pics later (if there is any left, LOL) once I add the tomatoes!

rawadventures,
I have made a zesty dish with lentil sprouts and it is nice... a bit of a crunch and lots of spices or whatever seasoning I am in the mood for! I am glad you like your recipe!

Rawadventures,
Bumping this up for a question and because the recipe is so good. I made Alissa's Spanish Rice and it is very flavorful. I also took it up a notch. Question on sprountig the barley--how many days did you sprout after the soak. I ask because mine in chewy, but good.

Mookie,
The recipe is in Alissa's book. I'm not sure on the a sprouting time, but mine was very tasty, although chewy.
Rainbow,
I don't know about spinach rice. Could probably add chopped up spinach to the Spanish rice recipe, though--would probably taste really great.
Anyone else that can advise on the number of days to sprout the barley?
