I always feel like my current kitchen just isn't designed right for me - I do so much cutting and chopping I feel like that is the center of my universe!!and even the way I move around my kitchen, use my garbage, compost, fridge, etc - it all seems out of sorts!!!!

What would be in your dream kitchen??

I know I would need a dedicated chopping area with a garbage and compost and sink right there
lots of counter space
sets of drawers that hold all my tools close by
a fridge that is just designed different - does anyone else have a good fridge that seems right for holding all the vegi's? more shelves I guess??
definitely a place for my dehydrated goods and storage of crackers, etc

how about you???

My dream kitchen is:

* LOTS of bench space for my blender, large juicer, big bowls and various large trays.
* no cooking facilities at all
* big sinks (3 or 4)
* another space under a 5th sink for a huge metal container of quality soil
* shelves all over the place sporting dozens of trays of micro green sprouts growing everywhere
* a HUGE kitchen that has tiled walls and floor with the floor at a slight angle and a big sink hole in the middle of the floor so l can easily mop down the floor quickly if water is everywhere after watering the sprouts.
* another area where l have special sprout units where l can drain jars of sprouts over a long sink-like area
* another large area where l can drain and dry jars, trays, the juicer etc
* a big area where l can store all my sacks of seeds and keep smaller containers for daily use on shelves for a nice display.

My kitchen is too small with very small bench space, so l often have to do the dishes up to 8 or more times a day to make room for other stuff, + l have to dry all the stuff so l can get it out the way. l have no room to keep my juicer or blender out either. + l always have jars to wash day and night and sprouting trays and bowls, so l run out of room very quickly. + when l rinse things under tap water l can no longer use the same dishes until they dry because of the toxic water, so l need to get new dishes. That's why l end up having to do the dishes so many times.

I thought you got good water filters?

I thought you got good water filters?

l do, but all my water systems are slow drip systems, so the amount of water l can use per day is limited to around 30 liters for outside and about 15 liters for inside (l like to use the inside system sparingly). Soon l am getting the RO system for outside and all my washing including bathing. l need to stop taking showers from the public chemical filled water and need to either make a special shower where l mix warm and cold water togeather from my RO energiser system or take a bath. During the sunnier weather l am going to heat my water by putting it in big glass containers, sit it on foil and leave out in the sun for the day and use the warm water without having to use power to heat it; all l need is to get used to having showers or baths in the late afternoon instead of the mornings. l am trying to not rely on electricity as much as possible and one day wish to get some small solar panels and have my sproutarian friend to hook up the house so hardly any power is used. l can't be reliant on other people for this type of stuff, l need to break away my dependance as much as possible from government and companies.

It would be surrounded by a glass enclosure with lots of greens right outside of it. Lots of space and HUGE refrigerator!

Ooooh.

LOTS of counter space! You need it for you blenders, juicers, dehydrators and all that jazz.
No cooking equipment.
A massive fridge (thankfully already have one).
Various shelves in darkness and light just dedicated to sprouting and growing things.
It being shared with other raw fooders.

Our kitchen is really small but it's been designed quite well.
We have a huge American style fridge which is great, it filters water too which I love.
My mum hides all my raw food equipment in an awkward drawer under the oven which is for "stuff not used very often"... it is used often just not by her. :( I much prefere keeping them on the work top. I hate reassembling them every time I want to use them. Things like the juicer are pretty heavy too. I might fight to get the juicer back up there.
There's a cupboard under the sink that I grow sprouts in. We grow herbs and other things, sprouts when ready, on the window ledge.

There's lots of cupboard space, we're getting a fancy thing to keep dried herbs and spices in. It's not bad at all really.

Aside from a raw vegan chef to prepare my every dish, my raw food kitchen would look like an oasis of fresh fruits and veggies waiting to reach their peak of perfection before being utilized into an awsome juice or raw vegan dish. HUGE fridge and lots of counter space for juicer, FP, Vitamix, Excaliber and a prep area worthy of the name. Deep sinks to wash the produce would be very nice. Plrenty of windows overlooking the extensive gardens and maybe view of the greenhouse to the right would also be nice. Nice thread to ponder the reality.

In my ideal world, the first thing l would throw out is the oven followed by the fridge.

I would love to have a huge fridge. The church where I attend yoga classes is a huge double door model with no freezer, I would love that.

I'd also love lots of counter space. I'd love a big single sink that's large enough to soak my dehydrator trays, with one of the high end faucets. I have a green house window - but I'd like one much larger to grow herbs in year round.

there would be 2 big sinks in my kitchen ,,, a double door big size refrigerator of samsung ,,, a microwave ,,, large shelves with doors of glasses in it to store containers ,,, a water purifier in it ,,,,, a special case for crocerries ,,,, plastic bags for garbages,,,,,,, and surely the interior designing of my kitchen would be something like design of a hut totally in brown colour and lights on all four corners of kitchen

A microwave? In a raw kitchen? Baffling!
