View Full Version : "Search" Banana Option!

I am really having a hard time finding anything on this site of late. For example, I put "Chrissy's Goddess Chips" in the "keywords" and then chose "Search Titles Only" and it brought up hundreds of choices none of which were Chrissy's Goddess Chips. This has been a problem the past few months. The search option used to work so well, but it just isn't anymore.
Admins, help???

I put in:-
goddess chips
search titles only and it came up with lots of result but the first 4 seemed relevant; even included chrissy's
Are you sure you have the poster name field blank?

Yep! And I just tried again. Put, "Chrissy's Goddess Chips" and search titles only and no recipe! It used to be that the list brought up on a certain search would be by the best match first, but it doesn't any more. Very strange...
p.s. I have been having this problem for several months and it got so frustrating that I just stopped searching.

So....I just put in the single word goddess and 5th post down was "Chrissy's Goddess Chips"! One would think that the system would have easily found it with me using that exact search, but it doesn't!

are you using capital letters and the title is lower case but you have case sensitive checked? Not even sure there is a case sensitive check box ... just trying to come up with a reason other than that the forum is giving you the run around!

I tried both ways. I can only find it when I only put in the one word, "goddess". Weird!

I just use google.
I type in the subject I am looking for followed by the name of the forum I want to search. This almost always takes me right where I want to go.

When I typed in the recipe name I got two threads... both were appropriate threads.

Still having problems...
I searched for "pumpkin pie" in "titles only" and "descending date" and got dates that were all mixed up and only two "pumpkin pie" in the title out of 20+.
The search option used to work so much better! I don't understand why all posts that have the words "pumpkin pie" in the title wouldn't come up first and in chronological order...?
Crazy!...and frustrating!

Perhaps it's whatever browser you are using? I'm using Safari and it's working fine.

Not many pie results but generally the results were good. Did you put your search terms in quotes as you posted here? Did and that gave best results.
