I am researching suppliers going on the Internet for information. I live in Vietnam and was about to go visit some cocoa plantations with the view to buy cocoa beans at the source.
Listened to a few experts and am confused but my gut feeling is that chocolate is not the super food it is purported to be.
I was going to use it in my raw ice creams and desserts.
If it is as bad as some say I am very reluctant to use it at all.
Any thoughts?

I use it! I love it!

If you can get it "from the source" that is incredible!

Get some, try it and see how you feel.

David Wolfe is probably the one to look to for information as I consider him the raw chocolate (cacao) king!

cacao affects everyone differently, some people love it and do great with it (myself included) and others feel anxious, and too overwhelmed with its effects....try it out , see how you feel, and if you don't overdo it it can be an amazing source of antioxidants and nutrition....the fact that you are able to visit the farms is amazing!! If i were you i'd DEFINITELY eat the cacao fruit if you can...ive heard that is an amazing experience, but i'm sure the chocolate is good too!!

I know what you mean about being unsure. When I was being really strict raw I didn't eat raw chocolate. I have about 50g a week at the moment but it is highly processed which makes me wonder just how great it is.

Thanks you everyone for your prompt replies. I will suss out the raw chocolate plantations. I am also on the hi t for the source of coconut sugar.
This morning I started to make coconut oil in my Angel twin gear juicer. I saw a demo on YouTube using a single auger juicer Omega Somthing.
I jammed up the gears luckily I didn't break my juicer. Before it jammed though,
I was quite pleased with the end product.

Chocolate has good benefice but it has downside too.

It aids for depression for instance. Usually when you do a fast, chocolate isn't recommended, this tell you a lot. If it would be so great for you, why, it compromise the detoxification of your body???

I am not against eating raw food with chocolate, but if i want to detox my body, i stay away from it.

Again, there are good things about chocolate but it is up to you to make that decision. If your goal is maximum healing and well being, then perhaps stay away from chocolate. If your goal is to stick to raw food and chocolate helps you, then yes do so.

Just my thought!
