Are enemas absolutely necessary during fasting (juice fasting or water fasting)?
Is drinking too much water during a water fast slowing down the detox?
Some of the early hygienists advised against enemas, such as Herbert Shelton. Nowadays, there is a great confusion as to whether enemas are necessary or not during a fast. Proponents of enemas say that enemas are necessary during a fast in order to help remove waste from the colon and to prevent the body from getting toxic during a water fast.

Lots of people fast happily without enemas. If you don't want to do enemas you'll be fine without.

Thanks for the enema advice.
If it weren't for this website, I would keep going back to Matt Monarch & Angela Stokes advice and their recommendations for colon hydrotherapy.

Water fasting will also cause emotional detox. If you have a background of abuse or are already dealing with mental health issues, brain disorders or things of that nature, please be very careful.

too much water? how much are you thinking of drinking?
keeping it around the 2-4 litre mark *unless you live in a very hot climate* is usually a good amount. some days less, others day a bit more.
personally i know when i've had enough water and then i simply stop drinking for the day. i get all spacey and not feeling very good when i'm drinking too much water. of course, not feeling good and spacey are also part of water fasting... so it takes some experience to know which is which.
and... anyone who reads any of my fasting posts knows i've never done an enema or colonic during any of my fasts. i don't believe i need them. sheldon's experiences and findings assisted me to be very comfy making that decision and in the 5 years i've been fasting i've never had a problem.

I totally believe in what Matt Monarch teaches! There are others also, on this website, that believe in colon cleansing.
I think those that do not believe in them would completely change their minds if they tried it. I tried it and now I am a believer!
I also think it is sad that there are those on this site that have discouraged you from colon cleansing. That is some VERY BAD advice!
Read about Ann Wigmore, the Gerson Therapy and many others. Colon cleansing is not a new thing!

When i water fast, i cannot do without an enema, before i end the fast, i book a colon hydro therapy. So so much get release and cleanse and it is make such a difference when i do this.
Enema or colon therapy, help the body to detox with grace. Many thing that get release in your gut can get re-absorb in your blood stream.
There is a culture that always fast one week on water/per year and they don't necessary do enema and they do ok. It isn't a mandatory to do an enema but surely will assist you greatly if you do.
Going in nature and doing an enema while fasting will make a huge difference in the process.
It is up to you!

I don't think it's essential though and you can't dismiss a view because that person hasn't tried it.

Animals in the wild also haven't messed up their entire bodies the way we have, though. They don't juice fast either, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't.

Actually, it was by observing bird that this came to be, lol..... I cannot track the story but apparently some bird would do that with their beak.
Here is an article. You can google by typing "Enema by observing the bird"

Just because someone has chosen to not doing something doesn't mean that they are wrong with their decision. LOL
As for the OP. Gather your info. Read up on different opinions and make your own choice - as I did and continue to do. Just remember... no matter what choice you make, not everyone will agree with you. But it's your choice to make regardless.
