hello,

I am curious to know if there is a difference between glass and stainless steel water bottle. I am looking to upgrade to a glass bottle but finding them hard to get in 33.8oz. A guy at work ordered one off ebay that is all glass and even the top that screws on is glass. Its coming from china and not sure i even want to test the quality but may wait to see when he gets his to see how it looks. I see a lot of the ones online are 22 oz but have a plastic top. Well once the point to have it as the top could leach. Do you have any recommendations for me. I like to drink at least 33 oz when I'm at work and use reserve osmosis and distilled water.

thank you!

Josh

Mason jars that have glass inserts might work.

use a wine bottle or vinegar bottle etc and use a cork to cap it

better yet use a vodka bottle and chug a lug it in front of co workers ;-)

From my health food store, i bought a VOSS water brand that came in a glass water. This is what i use at work and this is great.

If i would have to choose between stainless the plastic that you mentioned, i would go with stainless. But nothing beat the glass bottle, the water taste so so much better.

Any bottle in glass are great. Search in google image, you will see many interesting one.

This is the VOSS

yeah i seen those but they don't come in the 33.8 oz side. Also is the top plastic or made of glass? I'm going to wait until the guy at work receives his all glass one and if it looks good then I'm just going to order that. I am just tired of bringing 2 or 3 16oz water bottles to work everyday as its a hassle. Would be nice just to have 1 container that i could sip on all day and if it got warm just stick in the fridge.

The top is so small and it is ok for me that this isn't glass. The large size is 27.1 oz, quite close. I bring two bottles at work

I saw water bottle, with the top made of glass at the health food store. I bought a couple but i tend to use the VOSS bottle.

Anyway, i hope you find what you need.

thanks for your suggestions. I was at wholefoods over the weekend shopping and went to the water isle to check for glass bottles and came across the voss artisan water. For $3 i just couldn't pass up the deal so bought 2 of them. I ended up now throwing away all my plastic bottles now. I notice the water stays cold in the glass longer and just taste fresher than the plastic. I will refill it with my reserve osmosis water that i get from wholefoods.

You seem to have found your solution, but I have a 40oz stainless steal Klean Kanteen. The mouth is large enough to fit in ice cubes. I have had mine for four years, it is indestructible and it does not retain flavors if you use it for other liquids.

I used to buy Sigg mugs but I kept leaving them places and the costs were racking up.

Usually, I just buy an Aquafina or glass mineral water bottle and then refill them at home (my water here is better) and if I leave it somewhere I just forget about it.

One caveat is that I did go hiking with one of the glass bottles while traversing a stream and fell with the bottle in my hand, causing about five stitches. Note to self: stop walking next time while stopping for a water break.

I get 1/2 gallon Mason jars at Micheal's Craft Store for $1.50. I buy 8 packs of BPA free plastic lids for them on Amazon for $4. Easy and cheap!

We use 40 oz. Klean Kanteens here as well. We got the sippy cup lids (bpa free) and modified them to work better for adults (ie. took out the rubber flap and drilled a tiny whole on the opposite side for more air inflow). They do spill a little water when tipped over but they work well for us since we don't carry them with us.

thanks everybody for the comments. I really appreciate this site so much! The voss 28oz are working great as there so easy to refill and stay cold! I drank around 100oz water yesterday throughout the day. This summer heat in tx is just crazy since I am originally from the north.

Do they fit in a car cup holder?

I love Michigan Roman's suggestion too :cheer:

I just want to throw in 2 cents: I was using the Nissin bottle happily for about a year. I finally got a counter-top water purifier/alkanizer as I've found high PH water agrees with my system. I found out that you should NOT use this kind of water in a steel container. FYI ;-)
