Hi fellow juicers. I've been juicing for the past 70 days and it's proven to be beneficial to all areas of my health- I feel more energy, going to sleep easier etc.

But yesterday was different. After work I feel nervousness, a bit paranoid, and random old memories popped into my head and some negative emotions came out of no where. I went to bed around the usual time and the whole night I was tossing and turning and was unable to fall asleep. Then by around 7am this morning I felt very strong chills throughout my whole body, I had to wear 2 long sleeves and had 2 blanket covers on a summer morning and I was still shaking uncontrollably. After the chills came what seemed like fever, then after that a very strong urge to throw up and body aches. It was the most miserable morning in recent memory. The worst part is that it totally caught me off guard because I thought detox only happen to people who are juice fasting.

I survived it somehow and rested most of the day and now my question is what do I do during this detox thing? Do I continue to drink 2 big glasses of juice everyday like I used to? How about what I eat, should I stay with fruits and veges? What's the quickest way to get through this phase? Any advice from people who's been through it is much appreciated!

When I first started, I went from excellent health to one day shivering in bed, with joint pain when walking and red marks over my body and stomach pains. I was wondering if I was going to die. Then it all went away the next day and I shortly forgot about it. My experience has been if they are detox symptoms, they tend to go away rather quickly. I would just make sure you are getting a lot of water and if they persist for more than a few days, you might want to change your diet and/or consider seeing a doctor.

Hi... been there. Not pleasant. It is detox. My understanding is that it's like having the flu... it will pass. You can also go through detox, feel wonderful for months and then suddenly have another 'attack'. Each time the symptoms are less. Your body is cleaning itself of years of improper eating, lifestyle. You have worked so hard and long to get to this point and it will pass. It's like an alcoholic going through withdrawal. Please be careful however, if you start having any symptoms like palpitations, shakes, vomiting please make sure to see a doctor. Good luck on getting through this!! :cheer:
