View Full Version : Are Nutritional Yeast and Brewer's Yeast the same thing?

Hello all,

I recently went to buy Nutritional Yeast so I could make yummy sauces and cheesy dishes. At the market (Mother's) I was told by a worker there that they are one in the same. He lead me to a section with a number of "yeasts." In fact many of them said both "nutritional" and "brewers" on the same bottle. My mom swears they are different. Is there a brand I should get? Are they the same?

it gets into the growing medium i believe . brewers on the hops / waste etc of beer brewing

nutritional grown on varying mediums such as this below brand , my fave , grown on beets

also some yeast such as NOW brand ive used in past has things added such as b12 / o ther vitamins which sources arent stated on label

where as the lewis labs brand at link is pure brewers yeast , thats why i buy it . plus like taste :
