View Full Version : Fasting while at work?

I have only done two short 7 day fasts, and they were at home.

I have never done a fast at work.

I am already kind of skinny, and I don't want to get any skinnier. I have to go to work at Kroger's. Pushing carts for an hour while fasting might be a little too much.

I can't bring a juicer while at work.

So any help on how to get around these issues?

do you have a staff fridge? You could juice at home and take it in to work and store in fridge til you need it. Otherwise you could take a cold box ice block in and store in a locker if you have one.

My first one week fast, i was exhausted and did it at work,

My second one lasted over two weeks and i had so much energy and still did it at work. After 8 days, i hosted a huge raw meal event for my friends and i had energy. I even move furniture around but after doing this physical work, i started to think about food and i broke my fast after 16 days.

So if you can avoid doing physical work, do so. If you do only one week fast, you should be ok, but again it depends on how your body will detox. I would plan that your physical work coincide in the beginning of your fast. Go OUTSIDE. The sun will energize you.

Perhaps, you can plan to make it coincide with a long weekend and your fast with the long weekend. Don't forget to take deep breath before you get up because your blood pressure will go down and you may experience dizziness.

The ideal situation, is when we don't work but at time and for me, it isn't a possibility.

Yes you will lose the weight but you will gain it back. I did it on the winter and i wear more lose close so it wouldn't show too much. I notice not loosing that much weight on my second fast. I lost it the most on my first one.

I will do another fast but i will wait in the fall. I want to engorge in nice fresh berries and edible weed in my area.

All the best!

p.s My fast was a water fast. If you do juice fast, do greens at night, it will prevent muscle lost.

How much juice would I need for a whole day? Especially for 30 minute lunch?

With Krogers and a 8 hour working day, it is usually 2 breaks, and 1 lunch. 6 hours = 1 break and 1 lunch. 5 hours is 1 break.

Maybe that's why I lost muscle during my last two fasts. I lost it along my spine.

I am just wondering if it is going to be safe for me to do another fast. I am now on a 100% raw food diet focusing mainly on fruits and vegetables, and have been doing it 100% for 3 months.

Just coz your lunch hour lasts 30 mins doesn't mean you have to be drinking juice for the whole 30 mins.

I've tried fasting while at work but I guess it would only last for 1 week per every month. :eat

you wouldn't lose muscle mass on a 7 day fast. you probably lost tone, not mass.

as for fasting while working. i don't work outside the home but i fast a lot. during my 209 day fast i did yoga, went for lots of walks and did all my usual stuff around the house as well as some pretty intense cleaning sessions (fasting does that... you want to clean everything around you LOL)

and i've had lots of clients who fast while working. they simply take either juices to work or a juicer. both worked for them. it's all about how much you want to fast. if there's a will... there's a way.

heck, people fast while camping!

Hmm... seems like you ought to have an advantage over the rest of us with fresh raw food at your immediate disposal... I seem to have a major logistics headache with trying to take raw food with me while I am working.

Absolutely safe. If i could do a water fast for 16 days no problem, doing this on a juice will be even safer. I am not a doctor and you need to research.

You will super charge your body. Do a lot of green, it helps to built the body. If you lose weight, it is because it is bad fat. Meaning, our body sometime store dangerous toxin in our body fat when it cannot cleanse it. Your body will restore a healthy fat for you.

All the best!

Do you guys think its good idea to prepare your body for a long juice fast by doing a couple short 1 day juice fasts ?

Just so your body doesn't think you are starving it of food and so you don't shock it while fasting? Like doing one day juice fast every week or so, to prepare you for longer fasts...

I've fasted with people who's first fast is 92 days. If YOU want to start off slow... start off slow. If you want to just do it... then just do it. Your body knows nutrition when it gets it and raw live juice is pure, beautiful nutrition!
