Hey my name is Josh, i'm an 18 year old law student and I have a lot of free time rofl:)

I have recently got into raw foods and organic gardening and I am very interested in this stuff. I am a smoker, but intake a lot veggies and fruits, I also blend aloe and water as a detox. But I have a rapidly growing interest in fasting. I just don't know how to start a fast. I mean i know it shouldnt be rocket science, but I would like to be adequately prepared. Would it be wise to start with juice or water? I mean I've done research and come to the view that juice fasting seems less intense but still carries amazing benefits. Plus, it would give me something to do with my gardening. Most of my knowledge was acquired by watching (Dan "theliferegenerator" Mcdonald) and other channels on youtube. I really need some help here though, i am scared that i'll get sick from smoking and I want to change my lifestyle. I really love the community atmosphere on this site, so I am calling to rawfoodtalk to help me save my life all natural:) Thanks for any help to come:)

Check out quickfasting.com to read a free e-book fasting guide. Don't begin fasting until you've read plenty on it. You'll want to know all about easing into one and how to properly break one.

This book was a godsend, it is currently on my kindle, and it is exactly what I needed. I am a highly spiritual (not religious) individual and i respect the teachings of the bible. So thanks a lot streetsurfer blessings to you and your family. One love

You're sure welcome! Check through the search feature here as well. Some of the regular fasters have also listed fasting guides and educating articles that they have used. I think it's wise to let someone close to you know you are fasting in the event of any unforeseen difficulty. If you experience nausea or headaches drink water. It will oftentimes help it subside. Rest as needed. Taper in and out safely, keep well hydrated, work from a basic plan but be flexible. Start small and regularly and see how it goes. Best wishes.
