for health, weight loss, natural beauty, peace, freedom, etc...

two friends have gotten back on the wagon to get their weight under control and lose it and have a leader who is willing to help them once again (he was amazed at my transformation doing raw) And when I was talking with one of them today, she made the comment that she didn't want to do 100% for the rest of her life. Maybe until the weight is off or the majority of it, but then, that would be it. I told her that she didn't have to do raw at 100% but maybe at 80-90% until really ready to make the jump. (but in order to keep the weight off, she'll have to continue eating this way for the rest of her life as it's a lifestyle change and not a diet) after talking with her, I decided 'here is my chance to prove how great this way of life is and that it really does work'. I'll admit that I've been slacking myself this past week (and can tell the difference in how my face looks and my stomach feels) and this just gave me a chance to get back on track and to prove that if there is any way to go, it's raw - even if, at first, not 100% but at least high raw. Here is a chance to show that you can heal your body, mind and soul with raw.

We can talk till we're blue in the face, but you're right, once we've got something to show, people will take notice.

It's your awesome example that'll help your friends. How lucky for them that they have a friend like you that'll show the way!

. . . to prove that eating all raw does work, one must actually eat all raw!! I'm not at all trying to rain on your parade because I think that you're definitely onto something with your post. But, I also know that there are plenty of people here on this forum who are still thinking that they can achieve the results that are possible with raw by being less than all raw. This just isn't the case. As Alissa has said, the difference between 99% and 100% is FAR more than 1%. (I'm not trying to get into a percentage discussion -- I don't use percentages as descriptors myself.) In her years of experience working with people, the only true amazing, magical, and transforming healing comes when one is all raw. I think this is what you're saying, livenraw.

There are logical, hard and fast, reasons why the body needs to be completely raw before it can really rejuvenate. There are numerous books and articles that explain this -- probably the best recent one I've read is new: Matthew Monarch's little book is clear and concise (actually, Fred Bissche (sp) spells it out, too).

There have been many newer members on the forum lately -- and sometimes I see that the discussions veer away from Alissa's belief: being a 100% raw vegan is the optimum lifestyle for optimal health. That's why she founded this forum -- as a support group for those embarking (or well) on the path of eating only raw and living foods.

Yikes!! This is what I get for getting on the forum after I've taught a class! I'm still in teacher mode ... (and crusading for the lifestyle that changed my life and so many other people I know) ... so please know that I'm not trying to take away from your realization; just trying to spell out the underlying philosophy so those reading who are vacillating can hear someone say definitely that being totally raw is THE way to go.

Blessings -- and warmest thoughts to you as you continue on your own raw journey.
