Hello all! I'm Jamie and I'm a 24 year old nutrition major from Massachusetts! For years I've eaten junk food, much of which was influenced by my parents. For the last few months I have been trying to convert to a healthier lifestyle via raw food and Eat to Live, but it's very hard and I'm not sure what I am doing. I wanted to do this because I suffer from fatigue, acne, and the good old ADHD/Anxiety...I guess I am just ready to live and not let my health slip away. I need guidance though and unfortunately my friends and family do not want to partake in this. Anyways I'm glad to have found this forum and have hope that I can finally get the hang of this! My only downside is that I do not make a lot of money due to school/part time work so my options are limited..I do however have a blender (not high powered though), dehydrator and a food processor. Thankful for those! Anyways, I look forward to this! Thanks, all! :)

Hi there, please don't be terrified. It's not healthy or sensible! Raw food is actually just food. What you were eating is terrifying and not food :) if you can get a copy of Alissa's book that will give you a start. Sprouted foods are cheap and nutritious and many foods are inexpensive if you shop wisely. Good luck and welcome.

We're in the same boat, Jamie. I started eating nothing but raw foods the other day for the exact reasons you listed (anxiety/ADHD/acne). We're both poor college kids, too!

It is kinda scary jumping right into it, but after reading through these forums the past few days I feel like I'm prepared to the long-haul. Part of that confidence comes from how smart everyone on these forums seems to be. Hopefully they can help us out!
